Yeah most southern people would rather be called Redneck, Sod buster, Honkey, Good ole boy, even white trash would be better than Yank, Yankee or any term associated with those people.

I like most of you fellas on here. I was never Special Forces, I was just a Corpsman with a Marine Raid Company who failed BUD/s, then I went over to the Army as a medic and went to Selection and decided on the final ruck march I didn't want to go through all the rest of the B/S, so I left and soon after met old nbforrest fresh off the DI trail, we hit it off and the rest is funny stories.

We know Americans are the most hated people, well if you don't count Jews in the world, and we know why. It is because of the Yankee American attitude of "We need to fix" everything. It is rude to come into anothers house and rearrange furniture, and that is what those people do. Then they wonder why they get kicked out of the house(Country). People abroad want our technology, and our help when they ask for it, but no one likes their hand forced. Them yankees have been forcing our hands, bleeding us dry for all my known life. They use us for cheap labor, cannon fodder and jokes. Our people are the most productive and the least respected or funded. Look at our schools and theirs, they keep funds low down south to keep people ignorant so they got someone to serve their food. It really is sad.
Some Southerners spirits are broke and they just accept it and go on, stuck in what they are born in, in the land of opprotunity . Howard Dean has in his eloquent vocabulary called us white trash and wants the white trash vote. We lost our country a long time ago, and have been an economic and labor colony ever since. In short we don't like being grouped in with those people who use us and everyone else.

Hell, boys, we`s jus jivin your arses (was that grammatically correct? Oh good)
Yank is a term used for anyone from the US of A, and not just for those limp-dicks from north of the Mason-Dixon
It’s a bit like Brit (which quite a few of us hate) being used for anyone from UKers. You boys ain`t Yankees, I ain`t a Brit, I`m English.
We (RMs) have another name for y`all, which like the word fark, has many meanings depending on the context in which it is used. That word is Elmer. Usually a term of endearment for our cuzz in the USMC( OooooRaaaagggghh) but when we`s talking about the POTUS(Fark him 8) ) it becomes a term of offence, if you get my drift. Those of us with an ounce of common dog fark, not only welcome your input, but also your continued posting. Long may it remain so, this is your forum as much as it is mine
Elmer comes from the names that some of you guys have, by the way. Names like Elmer J Chickenshit, from Arsehole, Arizona 8) Bit stereotypical, I know. Just like we all say"Wotcha, guv?" and live in a permanent pea-souper whilst abusing the servants :P I know I do and I live down under. :P (Er, no whiteboy, not that sort of down under  )

Hope that helps, guys, and stops y`all from getting a wild hair

Harry,
Is you is maybe from Bama (Alabama)? You got their accent down.
I get the Yank thing, but it just gives me visions of some dago from NYC named linguilli sitting on a liberty ship smoking cigars cheating in a card game on one hand, and the other I vision Bill Clintons hooker wife as the model Yank.

Elmer, that is funny. I never heard that one. If the Elmer is from AZ he'd more likely be a Elmer Jose "Dirty Mexican" Hernandez. We got alot of Mexicans in our Marines. The Army is getting his-panic heavy too.
You might have to change the name from Elmer to Jullio or Heffe.
Yeah I like this forum, it beats military.com/munist.

No sirreee, but I once knew an old Gunry Sgt........
Bill Clintons hooker wife
What can you mean, Sir :o
Surely not?
I think we should be told 8)
BTW whitey, what`s the time there in Colorado? 0110 Sat, local

Bird... is that a wish or a statement? I've left it so you can either edit it yourself or back it up with fact... otherwise it will just remain as testament to your intellect!

All i can say is ive worked with the yanks for a month on an attatchment and i can truly say they were,
Hospitable.
They would share there last bit of food with you (M.R.E.s lovely).
Slightly exciteable.
Obsessed with where they come from.
Not much use before a cafine injection.
Not the best turned out.
Would fight to the last.
In my eyes(again my personel opinion)There command and control at section level needs looking at.A lot of shouting but not much going on.
This is only a month spent with them so i cant say if they are all like that.
Still i wouldnt like to be on the other end of them.
I used to be in the SASS (Saturday and Sunday Soldier)

Spot on 'osb'. No-one is 'all like that'. Did you like all the squaddies you ever met? Me neither.

The world is mostly made up of good guys. Enjoy the guys you like. The ones you don't should not concern you.

Oh, and :- they may actually be good guys who just have different views than you!

Yeah,

I checked the link harry. It reminded me that the USMC stole the tune from our own, unsurpassable:

In the depths of darkest Africa
Where the Yanks have never been
Lies the body of a huge gorilla
F***d to death by a Royal Marine.

Etc..........

Alas I've never worked out how one can fondle a gorilla to death.

Well, I guess we'll see when we get to heaven. Either there will be dead gorillas everywhere or USMC flags.

As one of those "arrogant yanks" I didn't take offense....took it as it was meant to be....a joke. As a former USN, navigation-challenged individual, I thought it was quite funny!!!!! LOL

PS: I could give you true accountings that would make that one seem lame in comparison. Just remember that no one is perfect and plenty of countries have "dirty laundry"!! :)
