That joke was bollocks... doh!

Were those bike rides some gentle country lane jobbies to work off that hangover whilst everyone else was out tabbing?

how about putting a bit of salt and heavily watered down lucozade in my water bottle whilst tabbing, it would taste foul though

doc and duck(sounds like a pub), what do you mean by electrolyte drinks, do you mean drinks with salt in? im not sure what the difference between salt and electrolyes is, i thought electrolyes were the things in your muscles that cause them to contract :-? and to work they need salt, i didnt do too well at biology or sports science at school

bloody hell i sound like stinky furby :o

Mark, they are salts. I think the body needs sodium, potassium, magnesium and sulphate (sp). There are probably more though.
I think you're right about the muscle contraction too. I believe they're needed for nerve impulses.

I was once told to put half a teaspoon of salt, and half a teaspoon of sugar in a pint of warm water to make my own electrolyte drink :-? Oddly enough I never 'got round' to trying that!

Tried it...tastes like poo. Ahh well; i forgot which forum we were in!!

Quote of medic "Ah, you'll be alright, heres some brufen - did you think it would be easy? *yawn* I'm knackered we didnt get back from drinking til 2 this morning.." I love it when medics tell you its not that bad and then go back to sleep.

You want to ride Trials no Enduro! Much more skill involved :P

finished at 2am??? must have been pongo medics that, us RN boys stay out all night and Royal just puts his hand in the pot and gets his own brufen. He's learnt you see that wether you ask or not, wether its a sprain or a sucking chest wound...the treatment is the same

Lol.. Actually we all got our hands on some volterol recently...good stuff

If in doubt though, brufen with a paracetamol codeine combo works a treat as well :D

I rather like those yorkies actually, just a shame they dont have any fruit and nut... I've seen some new, new rations that have proper rice and curry in them as well!!! yet to get my hands on them though, still eating thwe stuff from 1996 i think...

Thats true. The veggi menus are alright. Do you know how much a 24hr rat pack goes for on civi street ive seen some going for £15each never mind a box of 10. And hexi cookers for £8-10 and we get them lobbed at us. Its a shame NBC (sorry CNBR or something like that) suits aint still in fasion in civi street

We were all set to go on Ex Purple Pants (star) as part of the Joint Rapid Deployment Force in the mid 90's when our rapid deployment to the US was put back by the health department because they were worried about BSE and our rations (we had rakes of old GS tinned stuff to shift). The problem was resolved when it was confirmed that the beef in said rations was (a) Argentinian and (b) about 20 years old so pre-dated the epidemic

As for hexi's - harry I feel ill. I had an old house up on Dartmoor with a log burner and had crates of the things as firelighters. A few hundred quids worth - street value. Mind you if that shed caught fire it would have taken out half of the village. All gone now though

So the Argentinians were supplying the British Armed Forces there Beef not long before so I would imagine just before the Falklands War. Makes you think
