What are they arguing, that the poor fish get tired out? Something tells me that if we were able to interview the fish they'd be pissed off about the hooks in their lips, but would say it's worth it because fighting on the line is better than sex. :)

Fishing is not better that sex

As far as I’m concerned synder, redhand, even wholley (and we were getting on so well :P ) can shove your opinions up your ass. As you don’t live in this country and have more than likely never seen a hunt in your life.

Hunting as someone said is not an effective way of keeping fox numbers down. If they wanted to do that they would go on an annual cull like every other country in the world that has a pest problem.

These people who hunt are cruel malicious bastards, who do it because they like to see a heavily out numbered animal torn apart by a pack of dogs.

James, I know what your saying they are a pain in the ass, we get them from time to time down here, but I wouldn’t warrant a hunt running through my property as they do more damage to the countryside than the foxes.

As for foxes hunting (for fun) how many of you see cats hunting birds, (for fun) but people say ohh, it’s a cat its what they do. Maybe its what the bloody fox does as well.

Redhand, ref your first post, it is an interesting comparison, but what I suggest is that we put the toffs on the ground and have them chased 10 miles cross country only to be torn apart by a troop of Gurkha's!!! See how they like being in the sharp end of the stick.

How about we don’t hunt all our animals to extinction, we used to have wolves, but not anymore.

Personally I don’t like the idea of hunting as you may have gathered. But if it needs to be done then, do it in a kinder way.

btw, I’m not a liberal pussy before any of you KILL KILL DIE DIE, lot jump on the wagon.

I thinking that it might be better than sex from the fish's point of view -- the writhing and all that -- as long as you let him go at the end. Not before sharing a post-reel cigarette, though. :)

Don't you guys have an Endangered Species Act over there like we do over here? Well, we have it for a while anyway. If Bush gets another four years, who knows. Meantime, we've got wolves galore in the United States. Want a few breeding pairs? Kind of amazing to think of Scotland without wolves.

Hey, I'm not a hunter either. But if other people want to do it I just don't understand why people in England get so up in arms about the foxes. So they die a horrible death. Big deal. That's how it goes when you're not on top of the food chain.

On Wolves:

My 'dog' Timber is part of a breed known as 'hybrids' mix of wolf and husky. He is roughly 1/4 wolf blood, but his characteristics would make you think he is atleast 3/4.

They have to be the most human friendly critters alive, they love kids, and are very beautiful animals.

But when it comes to other dogs or any other animal for that matter...watch out! His dad tore apart a pit bull, and Timber himself has torn apart two racoons (who are known for their vicousness). After one fight, his face was covered in blood and i was worried. Fear not, none of it was his, i wanted to take a picture, cause it was so damn cute!! :P :P

Anyways, just thought i'd share though, cause im very proud of him.

Lew,
What a well constructed arguement.
How long did it take you to come up with"Shove it up your ass?"
I have ridden to hounds in both the UK and the northern US.
Foxes are vermin and I don't really care how they die just as long as they do.They have an attention span of about three minutes, which judging by your statement is about the same as yours.

I'd say lew has the intelligence and self-control of, well, a Golden Retriever? :)

I agree with Wholley on this. When my grandad (ex-RMP, just thought I would add that!) used to bread some animals on his land, the foxes were constantly causing trouble. Although he does not go hunting with hounds, he does shoot them everytime he spots one.

I say lets kill all the little cretins
