I’m patriotic so are all of my friends, we are all in our late teens, and lately I haven’t met some one, my age who isn’t :) I also don’t care if I’m called a raciest, this is, my country and if I want to fly my flag then I will. The pc and ethnic minority crowd can moan and complain all they want, it just means ill fly it higher...

As Lew has stated, this thing has been thrashed out before. I think that it is more important to remember the men and women, regardless of nationality, who are being killed or wounded in Iraq. I am sure that the furthest thing from their minds is who is better than who.

I was reading that the real hero of this affair was a Sgt Walter's. He was one the one who fought until he run out of ammunition, he was found stabbed and shot a number of times, all the things acredited to Jessica.
Jessica was badly injured after the Humbee she was traveling in crashed
into a broken down lorry, also it was found that her gun had never been fired as it was jammed. Now how is it she gets the Bronze Star just the same as the Sgt who fought until he was killed protecting the troops around him.

She laid in a ditch TKO'd while her constituants slugged it out. The story of Sgt. Walter is true. Also the rest of the convoy fled the kill zone to safety leaving the soldiers who were captured or killed to their own devices. There is talk of an investigation on the cowardness ogf the commanding officer who deserted the scene. Jessica was slapped in the face? Funny her face appeard unbruised or marked in the rescue photo, her hair combed, she laid on a special bed, her gaurds had been abscent for 2 days, and she loathed her duty to attempt escape. Men in the past with more severe injuries escaped from Nazi prison camps and Japanese camps. This whole Jessica buissness is a fraud and a mochery to those that have Earned the medals she was given and real hero's don't exploit their heroics for monitary gain. I've heard stories of the heroics of Royal Marines at Basra, US Marines at Nassariyah, and the valor of Sgt. White that our countries media and govt. have blatently forgotten.

I am ashamed of Jessica Lynch. My father fought in Vietnam on Hamburger Hill, he killed many enemy soldiers and he was awarded the bronze star, Jessie lays in a ditch, then a hospital bed and she gets the same medal. She wasn't shot or stabbed, and it is unlikely according to our military that she even fired her weapon.

The whole propaganda stunt is disgusting. :fist:

"I am ashamed of Jessica Lynch. "

Why? What did she do? It's not her fault she's been awarded the bronze star. You weren't there in Iraq as an injured POW were you? How convenient for you to say she should have escaped while typing from the safety of your computer.

Absolutley nothing, I thinks that's why he's ashamed of her and that IS why she doesn't deserve the Bronze star.

What I'm saying is Jessica lynch has recieved more praise than the other POW's. That people like Sgt. Walter who went down fighting as the RM's and USMC platoons that fought to the death in Nassariyah. That since 9/11 we've seen herioc's like seen in the case of Neil Roberts who fought enemy troops in Afgahnistan with his bare hands until he was finally killed while Generals in comfortable chairs watched from flat screens the whole sceen from an unmanned drone.

See TK4from New Mexco, I was a Sgt. and served in theaters such as Rwanda, Gabon, The Middle East, DiJibouti and the Pacific. I've been BTDT got the t-shirt and sold it in a garage sale. I can easily from an ex-military mans point of view discearn the facts from a highly emotionally charged event and make a clear assimilation of those facts that paint a realistic picture of the reality of the situation.

Number one every conflict needs a positive face, Jessica is that face. A cute petite blond who is so fragile she sustained multiple fractures from a 35 mph collision in a hummer. I've rolled one and my 200 lb 6ft. 3 frame of twisted steel and sex appeal walked away with out a scratch. Anyway Jessica, the cute little red neck girl from the trailer next door from cousin funk West Virginia fall from the hummer. She isn't shot, stabbed or even awake during the fire fight. The 507th that isn't bumper locked retreates with all crew served weapons leaving the survivors stranded and alone. Panic sets in as the Iraqi militia made up of Iraqi hill billies stupidly shoot from both sides of the road. The unit recieves more casualties, even though the ambush is made of amatures with ignorant cross fire tactics they paralize our troops who btw haven't cleaned their weapons in days(Standard in the support units). They can't return fire, and their comrads have left them. As this continues Jessica is napping in a ditch. The Sgt. in charge surrenders his crew. Mean while Sgt. Walter is hiding in the wheel well of a tractor trailer, he see's probably a few double taps in the wounded and figures if he surrenders he's going to be executed. He remembers his oath that people like Jessica just mumbled to get some college money and he decides to bayont charge, he is shot and bayoneted. As Iraqi troops arive they stop the militias abuse of the survivors. Babay Jessica and Pastewa are found amongst the wreckage unconscious and taken to the hospital where Pastewa dies of internal hemorahges. The Pentegon panics due to the fact the women in combat are good to go myth is about to be hung out to dry, they scramble for damage control. Informants who have been on a certian govt. payroll give their handlers info on her local. Mean while our hero sit's in a hospital on a comfortable bed, not a concrete slab, no torture chamber like POW's past, refusing to eat except for orange juice her doctors risked their balls to get for her. She was hidden from the Fedeyeem by hospital staff and when it was safe the whole Spec Ops command rushed in and filmed Jessica Lynch The Movie and wisked her away. The pictures hit the news and America sighs in relief, Bush's war and personal ratings sky rocket, America feels better about dropping MOAB's on little 4 year old Mohammed and we all sit around the fire singing Kumbahya. Mean while Jessica is operated on, briefed and debriefed on what she is and isn't to say. The Pentegon in exchange for her silence gets her some book and movie deals, has a quaint arbitrary Bronze star presentation and she gets amnesia, goes back to cousin funk and buys daddy a new Hank Williams CD and installs indoor plumbing for her dirt poor family. So destitude they allow their daughter to serve in the Army. Point to that is that the poor are easily bought.
Fact is she did nothing, and continues to do nothing. When you live in the public eye you owe the public some answer's. Like she should clear up the situation with a statement of her own words.
I'm glad I'm not in anymore. I was asked recently to come back in as an officer since completing my degree, I told the Army I refuse to serve in a military that allows women to serve in combat roles. She is being used and allowing herself to be used to gain personal advantages and allowing her image to be sold for political gains. Something as I remember we old soldiers swore to never do.
It is all politics. :fist:

Ah, I see. So being unbiased means sharing the opinions with the majority on this board.
I don't think Lynch deserves a medal. Is it her fault she's getting one? No. Did she wake up that morning and wish for all this to happen? No. Personally I hope she milks this for all it's worth with book deals, public appearances, movies, etc., etc.. Good for her.

TK4,
Look join up, take the oath's, think about what you are swearing to as you do and you'll easily see as you uphold those honors, oaths and traditions everyday that when you see your organization and its members betray them for political and monitary gain you'll want to vomit. You're a good American TK4, its all about the money, the deals ect. This is why you and your like thinking ilk will never stand the test. Such shallow goals, aspirations at the expense of honor, duty and Esprit De Corps. It saddens me to think our great country who once was the shinning bastion of freedom and goodness has sold out, and the groveling maggots such as you oprotunist's support thiese dishonor's to accomplish your own agenda. Thing is there will come a time when your ilk will cause the system to collapse. Perhaps you should read Cicero, he said Rome could withstand many things, even stupididty, but it could not stand treason from within, and this is exactly what you my boy and the officials are doing weather consciously or unconsciously, no matter the result will be the same, the end to all that the noble before you fought, built and preserved. Enjoy your milking, perhaps you to could find monitary gain from a national tragedy or perhaps you'll just go with the flow of those that do. You'll be in the Navy soon if I read right, they will love you there my friend. Plenty of bright eyed bushy tailed desk jockey warriors, looking to capitalize off of misfortune or lies. This is not the country I knew as a small boy, it disgust's me. Go ahead run with the ball, there is a team on the feild though hero, intent on keeping ten yards.
I still wonder, what though posseses you to defend lies? Perhaps I'm too harsh, maybe you are a good man, just misled? Truth is her citation doesn't rate and what about the Men who fought cut off to the death in Nassariyah? Even the Iraqis who saw the fight who seem to hate America said those Marines fought gallantly? I guess they were'nt pretty blonds?
