On the contrary,it is recognised,lawful practice that Police have to "put up or shut up" once the detention clock has reached its limit,they had already applied for & been granted time extensions by the Court to gather sufficient evidence to prefer charges against one or both suspects.
The detention clock does not operate within the Prison system as it does with people held in Police cells,the descision having been made by higher authority (a Magistrate),the clock in reality is now the duration of the remand. To have done otherwise would have been handing the defence a "get out of jail free card",gift wrapped.

As for loopholes,the defence will now be scrutinising each & every action Police have taken to see if there were any procedural errors they can exploit ... if that fails they will move on to see if they can discredit the evidence or the Police Officers themselves & so on .... don't forget,reputations as well as fortunes can be made from a case like this.

The defence will be happy with the remand,becase if Carr had done a runner & then perhaps committed suicide,there would be no chance of a future appeal .... & the money source would have dried up !

Meanwhile,Police will continue to gather evidence against both suspects to determine exactly what part each of them played .... Carr will probably be charged eventually with Murder (which is contrary to Common Law) & can always be later downgraded to Manslaughter,if for instance she puts up a defence that she was coerced by Huntley ... the system can never work in reverse,ie an upgrade from Manslaughter to Murder ... another quirk of our Legal system !

Whatever happens,the only "losers" here will be Holly,Jessica & their families,unfortunately "The Law" & "Justice" do not mean the same thing !!!

I applied to join the lay magistrates system at the invitation of my neighbour who was the County Solicitor for Cheshire. Of course with my views I was immediately sidelined. My mate did a little investigative work and reported back that they were looking for people with more liberal caring attitudes, apparently they did not relish the thought of a 'Judge Jeffries' on the bench. Anybody else applied and been turned down? If you want to see the direction this land is taking troll on down to the Magistrates Court for a morning and scan the dross waiting for a pat on the head and commiserations on their unfair start in life.

Derek, Loz, well said, I have twin daughters age 11, and anyone who even looks at them funny, gets it, like the guy in asda, boy, did he get a good bollocking, good job the missus was there, or he`d have been in the freezer, and me in gaol. Judging by the landslide victories this Govt have enjoyed in the last two General Elections ... the majority are happy ! .... its we "malcontents" who are the problem & we are definitely in the minority.

Obviously the majority of voters think its OK for a "Liberal,Man of the People" to rubbish private education but choose exactly that for his own kids ! ....,just one example, I could go on listing the Mega piss takes perpetrated by this man,his wife,kids & his Govt & cronies but what's the point ?
Seemingly,only the Members of this site care & most appear

I have seriously considered emigrating,as this Country just gets worse but Mrs Yorkymarine has always argued that you then become the immigrant & at least here you can have a "bitch" about things,without the indigenous population inviting you to return to your roots (something,we in this Country are expressly forbidden to do & are actively compelled to change our centuries old traditions to accomodate incomers,lest they don't feel welcome).

I have no problems with folk who choose to come to live here,so long as they remember ... "When in Rome" etc.
Furthermore,as the years roll on,there are fewer Countries willing to take incomers,who may enjoy the benefits of resources which their taxpayers have funded ... unlike the good old UK ... "Come one,come all & have it all free ... just remember to vote for that nice Mr Blur,who let you in" !

There is no legal alternative,as no credible opposition exists & I suspect that to most Britons,the illegal alternatives are unthinkable,its just not our way.
