Further to your post Addiction, I read somewhere before the world cup that the US rugby team are going to start trying to pick out those that don't make it in the draft after college. Names and clubs escape me, but one US guy, who plays for a French club I think, was saying how loads of those guys who don't quite make it are just as big (and bigger I'd imagine) as the forwards in European rugby, but faster off the mark, more agile etc. Obviously there will be a lack of skill, but they were saying that with all the video footage studying those guys do pregame for "football" that they reckon they could pick it up pretty fast. Could be quite interesting to see, if they get it right - a US team competing in a proper world (series) tournament with a chance of some success!

Well, they'll just be studied on their games and then an appropriate training and game program would be implemented by other rugby teams to beat them.
Doesn't matter who the opposition has on their team, there is always a way to take away their advantage and still maximise your own skills.

A good example of this is first up tackles. Take when England played France in the semi final's at the rugby world cup.
France brought on their serious crash ball player - Sebastien Chabal. He was closed down and tackled almost immediately. The second he got the ball, England players were getting stuck in, boshing him. Close down the man and he'll take a back foot because his game plan, and his abilities won't work.

That's a basic rugby tactic. But it's simple thing's like that which can make all the difference.

So even if the American player's did take gear and were much quicker. Doesn't bother us.
We'll meet you on the field and settle it. 8)
