I wasn't talking about things like lack of sleep, beastings or drill etc.... I was talking about the training staff deliberately making life harder for their recruits for no reason at all. When my brother-in-law was in the army his corporals would have them doing things like cleaning the floor with toothbrushes and other stuff like that either because they were in a bad mood or thought it was funny

Now this is definately BS and doesn't make for a better soldier and thats the sought of thing I was talking about. If you read my post again you'll see I talked about cutting out needless stuff not anything which contributes to the actually effectivness of the trainning provided.
Its not BS and i totally disagree with the fact that recruits are made to do these stupid things for no reason. It teaches all the recruits to do what their superiors tell them without question (not killing innocent people) but routine BS jobs out in the field
LoL if someone needs to be taught to not question orders telling them NOT to kill innocent people then I think something has seriously gone tits up!!

In my opinion this "needless stuff" probably does contribute to the effectiveness of training. Like is said above if people have got a problem with doing boring stuff they can't see the point of when their tired in training, what are they going to be like as soldiers?

   Waaah, somebody get the wahmbulance. It's supposed to be Lympstone not Centreparks. I probably speak for alot of people on here when I say; If I'm ever privledged enough to get there I'll happily clean the floor with a tooth brush with a smile on my face. :D

That's my troop on Sky news, we were down the bottom field for 2 hours giving them endless footage of the assault course!

If you look closely you can see me on the ropes and the fireman's carry, BPT passout on Monday!
