When i went for my PJFT the instructor told me I had to do it at 14.4 km/h to pass which was 10.45 mins, i said i would do it at 16 km/h to get 9 mins, but he said i should start at 14.4 and see how it goes because i hadn't touched a treadmill in years, after a couple of mins i whacked it up to 16 and got 9.20 mins, the treadmill i did it on only went up to 16 km/h.

I second the above, as I'm looking at the piece of paper explaining the PJFT right now and it states that you have to achieve 10:45! But they like to see something under 10 minutes, or so I was told be the recuiter. I ended up getting 9:18, which seemed to please him enough!

Yup exactly the same with me, I was getting around just under 10 min, On the day of the test the gym was so so hot and ended up getting 10:10 or something like that. Anyway as the AFCO said afterwards who cares ? Its under 10:45 so they didn't really give a shit lol.

In all honesty you want to be looking at a time of sub 9.30 if you want to pass the PRMC. But yeah, the gym I did it in was underground, really stuffy and hot and hard to breath in

TREADMILL WORRIES

Post by jase25064342 »

HEY GUYS I FIND BEST WAY AS WITH A RUN OUTDOORS IS TO GO AS FAST AS POSSIBLE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE,I TRY AND RUN AT 16KPH FOR 1.2KM THEN SLOW DOWN TO 14KPH FOR 400M THEN 16KPH TILL I FINISH ALSO AS A LITTLE BONUS I USED TO WHACK THE INCLINE UP AS HIGH AS IT WOULD GO FOR THE LAST 100M WHEN I DID MY PJFT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME ID DONE A MILE AND HALF ON TREADMILL,BUT DID IT IN 9.37 THE PASS MARK IS BELOW 10.30 I WAS TOLD ON THE DAY, BUT AT PRMC I WAS SUPPRISED HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD SCORED OVER 10MINS AND THESE WERE ALL YOUNG WIPPERSNAPPERS,AND IM 27 SO IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN.

i Just went to the gym tonight after I spoken with the AFCO officer yesterday but I didn’t sign up we where just talking about it. I got 9.44 which I thought was good but I was going at level 13 for about 4 minutes then shit myself so I cranked it up when I saw I wasn’t going to meet the target, anyway I ended up running at level 18.5 to make good time. I wasn’t nacked at the end I should have done better. I’m Signing up this Tuesday.

cant wait :D
