Beast...not to disagree with such a great man as yourself, but they will get you in one picture...just not the other. Therefore they cannot prove that you were speeding.

Sticks, one wheel mate...!!

Alternatively (and I'm not lying), you can get little canisters of something or other which sit on top of your can, and are injected into the pipe at the press of a button creating a rather useful cloud of smoke. Flip-up plates are another option. Or just get a bigger bike...I can't see any of the '04 Jap litre bikes not being able to beat 175mph somehow (new R1, Christ that's nice, and I hate 4-cylinders!!)

Sorry, got a little carried away...

Driving a Land Rover, it's not so much speed limits as targets.

Sticks, inject diesel into your exhaust, it works for the Kwik-Fit Fitters (aka Red Arrows).

Well on the Top Gear programme the TVR was going so fast that the speed camera never saw it. Not even the first time, I think it was going 170 or something like that.

Gatsos are only calibrated to detect speeds up to a set maximum, which then triggers both photos.
If you exceed that maximum it won't recongnise you as an offender and won't even flash the first time.
How fast is fast enough?
A one of test which beat the Gatso at 180mph (in controlled conditions of course) ;)
I would not recommend it tho. :)

Hmm, without being able to watch the a re-run, I will graciously admit defeat due to overwhelming odds. However, as I said somewhere (maybe above), I can't remember Top Gear actually beating the camera, so the car was always in both shots; maybe a prior episode?? That's where I got the impression that if you were travelling fast enough you would simply not be in the second photo.

Whilst on the sunject of Top Gear, did anybody watch it last night? They borrowed a Sea Harrier FA2 from HMS Illustrious and several crew members in order for the Harrier to do a lap of the test track. Needles to say the Harrier set the best time ever! :)

That remind's me I watched a program like Top Gear a couple of months ago where a Dodge Viper raced I think a F16 fighter down the run way. Why they did it who cares it look fun, well the Dodge lead the whole race but just at the end not surprisingly the F16 took the race but not buy much.

The thing's people do in the name of entertainment. :)

Not seen that one, but I've got the issue of MCN somewhere where they did the Tornado against the Gixxer against some supercar (think it was a Ferrari). Very entertaining.

Just on a technical note a speed camera works on a very simple time equals distance over speed calculation. To work this out the photoanylsis type people employed by the Police compare the postion of the car in two positions and then do the maths. To beat the camera you need to beat the second flash. For this there is no set upper speed but you just have to clear the last line quicker than the second flash. This speed l do not know but it will be quick and the didgital cameras (round lense) are quicker than the old standard cameras (square lense). However be warned there is a new breed of cameras coming to town. They are the single cctv looking camera's placed on high gantries. They calculate average speed over a set distance and can account for speeding up and slowing down. The bad news is because of there height in most area they will see you before you see them.
One final point any thinking of blocking/hiding there number plates to aoid detection be warned. You are commiting the offence of perverting or attempting to pervert the course of justice. This is a serious offence punishable by a maximum of life in prison and dealt with by crown court only. A man down south somewhere was arrested having been seen by officers in a traffic car to set off a speed camera. As he did so his number plate disappeared as a film surrounding his number plate was filled with coloured water by a button held in the car. He was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice and got 3 months in jail. You've been warned!!

Blue Streak is quite right.

The only way is to slow down. I guarentee that if you havent been caught yourselves you know someone who has! :o

Its not that uncommon now to speak or deal with someone who has 3,6 or even 9 points on their licence. Remeber 12 means an almost instant and lenghty ban. :o :o

Thats your job, possibly mortgage and house gone.

It isnt a game anymore. 3,500 dead every year. Each fatallity costs just over £1,000,000. :o

So thats about £3,500.000,000. that it costs the country every year in deaths alone!

Now you know why the govt is doing something about it!

Soon speeding will be as anti social as drink driving, trust me.

SLOW DOWN, cant say it enough!
