I think your slightly diluded as to how easy it is. It's going to brake you the first test if your finding it hard to run 1.5 miles. I wouldn't go there and embarrase yourself if I were you.

Rite Fevernova just read this thread i know you have already had loads of people telling you what you need but i think what you need is confidence "If you truly belive you will pass something you will , if you truly belive you wont you will fail !" The Marines is about strength of mind as well as body ! Muster up some determination and crack on ! If you do A-Level P.E you will already know rushed , excessive trainng is not only detremental to your health but dosent work ! My advice would be to follow a progresive programe and to postpone your PRMC till you are ready as it is one of the hardest things you will ever do and you should be able to make the maximum requirements when tired as you will be when you get down there ! Good luck any way mate and drop us a line some time let us know how your gettin on ! Matt
Speaking of treadmills...how can anyone use them?? The worst bit is the boredom...watching yourself in a mirror doesn't encourage running, and not actually going anywhere means you've got no motivation. And the still recycled air means you seem to put more effort in as well...what's wrong with the great outdoors?? I found it hard to stick to running daily...but lost my driving license, and took to bussing to work and running the 5.5 miles home afterwards, works a treat, and running it's as quick as the bus once you take into account the waiting time...

I still dont understand how the PJFT is done on the treadmill. Do you just change the speed by pressing the button when you feel like it? do they tell you? do they do it?? Is it one of those shittie manual treadmills? Do you do it on your own or in a group? Does a medic watch you or someone else? Do you do it before or after your medical?
The Best Is Yet To Come
ill tell you what annoys me about these treadmills,is how long it takes to get up to a decent speed. The first minute or so running is basically wasted as the machine speeds up,Your lucky to get further than 200 metres in the first minute or so..
Its a lot easier to run 1.5 miles outdoors than it is on a treadmill...
