Well im back from my PRMC(early as you may of noticed). The reason for my leaving the course is because the train journey i was sick multiple times and it didnt stop when i was there. Most of the day was spent running to the toilets much to the other candidates laughter

. The next day was no different but i decided to 'give it a go' anyway. Gym test 1 was as expected but i performed miserably . I had trained the same way so nothing was new but my scores were 'bloody awfull'. Managed to not be sick (thou many others were, some even passed out

) and proceeded to the swimming test. Quick jump off the board and into the changing room where i had to sit down through 'tunnel vision' which had materialised. The next couple of hours where spent going to lectures and resting and i drank lots of fluids and tried to eat some food before 'the bottom field'. Time came to get into the corridor but i still felt dizzy and sick. A look in the mirror revealed i was pale white(whiter than my pale white self anyway). I decided to pull myself off the course as to not waste the staffs and my time by carrying on. I was dizzy walking to the corporals office nevermind running all over the place for 2 hours. Decided to use the reason of not physically prepared instead of being sick(as they may view it as an excuse to go home).
A few tips i gained thou.
- Do as everyone else does e.g if they have tucked in there shirts you do the same . 5 people decided not to do this and we all ended up doing 50 pressups
-An extension to the above is too look for suck people and 'inspect' everyone in your room as we did. Thou the arses in the other rooms did not.
- When anywhere infront of any member of CTC do not 'fidget' e.g scratch your nose, sniffled, wipe sweat of move your head unless its to look at a corporal demonstrating something. Wallsand doors will not fall down so dont lean on them as you will be given more pressups. Hands in pockets is also another no no.
-Do not eat in the CTC's staff or the kings sqaud area when eating scran. One PRMC did so and was soon up outside recieving a good beasting for sitting with the kings sqaud. Nobody told him because they senced what was coming,he was also stupid for not seeing the sign
-Pressups are to be done down the the fist. The knuckles are to be on the floor unlike the 'old method' where the knuckles where vertical.
-They are very picky about any task you do. When doing situps your hands must touch your head at all times. Move one hand off a little and its spotted and 2 deducted. Grab your ears as i did and you will be ok,despite the laughter from the PTI's
-Check your boots all over even down to the laces and polish them well.
-Clean your cutlery well as there is no reason not to and you will be given pressups.
-Pressups require your arms are tottally by your side and no 'flaring' allowed. Your body ust remain straight all the time e.g the top of your body must also go up with your 'arse' not body followed by arse method.
-Avoid 'cum' faces when doing any exercise as the corporals will shout some profanity at you mainly with reference to 'shooting your load'
-Swimming trunks not shorts, you will be given 2 pressups for every member who is wearing shorts.A little math says that 40 people means 80 pressups. Those wearing trunks didnt have to do this.
-There was a saying around here like this "2 speeds at CTC full speed and total stop". This is no exageration,no jogging was ever done (accept for the 3 mile run i guess) and you run (and i quote the corporal now) "as fast as f@#k*ing possible" regardless of what your doing/feeling. Id advice basing your CV workout on sprinting and doing 2 runs a week of about 4 miles. Also if you dont feel sick when preparing for your PRMC
when doing exercise your not doing it right.
-When getting scran take your plate to the food not the food to the plate. Candidates spilled food on the counter and were sent to the back of the 200+ long line. Also one 'sort' of food e.b breakfast is a full english OR cereal not both.
-Do as your told as soon as possible and listen carefully and do exactly that. We were givem 30 pressups because 3 people didnt fill there bottles on the first day. After the 30 some people stood up and we did another 30.
The requirements they expect are as follows: bleep test 11 +. Pullups 6 and nothing below. Pressups 50+. Sit ups 70-80. The assault course is now 3.20 .
Ive also decided the marines are not for me at this moment in time as most PRMC candidates where 20 years old and only 2-3 were 18 like myself. Ive decided to give it another 'crack' in 6-24 months time when ive experienced more 'civvy' life, and once my legs have no 'aches or pains'. Definatly had a good time even when getting pressups and having to smile and say hello to people who went past.
