Weh-heh!! Turns out I'm not a terrorist (at least, not according to the Royal Marines!!)and I'm going in on 16th June, which means you'll always be 2 weeks ahead of me Dan you jammy git! Would have liked to go sooner but with my Al-Quaeda background I guess I should just be happy to be going at all

Those Royal Marines AFCO people obviously have their heads screwed on, I wouldn't trust a Scotsman as far as I could throw him (in your case Matt, not very far at all  ). It's not they're untrustworthy, it's just...just...OK, forget that! :D

Only joking. Who knows, maybe i'll pick up a wee injury just so I can be back-squadded and spend training beating you at pool. Maybe. If not, come and get advice from me about the two weeks ahead and i'll give you all the horror stories!
Aye, DAN

Don't worry about injuries mate, unless I get one they aren't gonna enter my mind! Just concentrate on getting your green lid two weeks before me and then I'm sure I'll have plenty time to embarrass your cockney ass when we get to unit

That's the spirit - two 'originals' in the making - straight 30 weeks and get out of that hell hole.

I spoke to an ex-Fusilliers officer at work yesterday (sponsored me a score for the 30 miler :D ) and he did 3 years in the RMR, Sandhurst with the Fusilliers, Det selection etc....He did say that the CTC beastings are a work of art - it's something that the Army doesn't do well (in his view). The conversation soon rolled on to dits about CTC puishments and various beastings and it was side-splitting. He thought it was great that I spent eight weeks of training on kit-bag routine :o (long story but apart from being a biff myself I got roped into 'collective' punishments).

It's very, very serious at the time but there are some very funny people down there and soon enough you'll be able to look back and laugh at others and yourself
