Hi Guys,

Been away for a few days. To cover a few points.

Yes the endurance course and log race used to be a part of the PRC when i did mine. Also there seems to have been a change in the emphasis of recruit training. It seems that now recruit training is designed to build people up for the Commando tests.

When I did my training the intention seemed to be to wear you down so by the time you got to test week you were almost knackered - especially as test week started straight after final ex.

Although i still stand by what i have daid in earlier posts - the more preperation and phtsical pain you put yourself through now will pay dividends when you join up.

Hi Phil,

Well I though I was human, but then again you never know

Don't forget i can't do that stuff now (as anyone who was on the 30 miler this weekend will attest to), but like I've been saying I wanted to to be a RM so I did what I thought was necessary (I also knew a couple of RM's so they left me with little doubt as to what was expected).

Everybody's different, I was a pretty good runner but was a bit weak so I built on my strength training, I guess if you are a strong lad you might want to work on your running a bit more etc etc - that type of logic (train your weaknesses not your strenghts)

Also I didn't just get up one morning and bang out 90 press ups - I worked at it, I wanted to produce good scores so I would pass, not be left worrying whether I could just scrape through.

Don't look at these stats and dismiss them as the work of a lunatic - use them as a target, which is what I intended them to be.

There are certain phrases that I often hear that sum up the differences that Gash-hand is talking about and they apply to different speres and proffessions.

The difference between
a performer practices until he gets it right
a solo performer practices until he can't get it wrong

most software is tested to see if it works
the best software is tested to see if it can be made to crash

I suppose that what I am saying is that; you can train to reach the same standard that others are when they pass or you train to the highest standard you can possibly achieve and pass with ease!

It was nearly a year ago now :o So im pretty sure it was never done.

I presonally think that if you want to track you own scores/improvements then you could do it on your own computer (or on paper). I dont see the point in needing to know what scores everyone else can achieve because we all know scores we need to pass the PRMC ;)

But I suppose all of us are curious some times :)

People are shocked about 90 press-ups, then go on to say they can only do 45? Try being me, I can do 35 max. My press-ups are my weakest point. But anyway, this seems to be an old post, so this is probably just me talking to myself. :o :o
