Since all our police-officers got the new SIG226, we have seen a rise in shootings by the police that can't be explained??
A number of officers are these days on trail for "over aggresive force?" during arrest actions...
For example, Two officers withness a 2metres/250pounds fellow knocking the shit out of another fellow.
Without warning one of the officers shoots him with 3 rounds.
"He was too big for us!!"
Now the danish police is considering pepperspray and stuff like that.
"Sir! We are surrounded! - Excellent! Now we can attack in any direction!"

We have Glock 17 SLP`s, H&K MP5`s, Asp (baton), CS spray and Taser to choose from depending on the perceived threat.
Wholley, I never said being a cop cannot be dangerous I just said its mindless, or the synonym I used ‘soulless.’ Yes the minority of time a cop may be put into a situation which is dangerous with ‘no backup no platoon.' But in between those few and far times it is the mindlessness like going to court, driving around, busting speeders, and overall waiting for something to happen which I was referring to…and come-on boys it is an easy job the majority of time.
In fact bud, I have quite a few relatives in both the UK and Canadian Police Force in some of the worst places both locations can offer, so this is coming straight from the ‘horse’s mouth.’ We have had many a discussion over Christmas dinners about this point and they all concede to the fact that police work wanes over the years from boredom and repetitiveness… why do you think so many police officers attempt to gain jobs in the private security, close protection, and risk management sector?
When I said anyone could be a cop I purely meant anyone could become a cop...Potentially not last as a cop, for whatever reason, but anyone can BECOME a cop I.E the physical and educational requirements… or lack there of.
I didn’t mean to hit a heart string there Wholley, or create a ‘bone post’ as Doc would say but I was giving a ‘realistic-lashing’ to the original poster. Yes of course being a cop is an honorable job. My main premise was that police work is boring over time and not as cracked-up-to-be as the original poster was thinking.
Agree to disagree but I am coming here with knowledgeable facts from family experiences in both forces, not just a half-arsed opinion on what I believe police work to be.
I see you’re a cop though Wholley so you know how your own profession is, I meant no explicit disrespect, only a mere observation based on my experiences with other men in the police force.
- Sorry for the long post, just had to, as the French Canadians say, speak le mind.
Life is a journey of experiences. Some good some bad and some we choose to forget.
I recall once working with a couple of I.T. guys at IBM in Runcorn. They told me that they hated our kind of people because we had so many experiences to look back on, whereas they'd only ever worked in the same office year in and year out.
Its good to take on great challenges, gain invaluable experiences from all kinds of situations and hardships with trustworthy friends, who you can trust with your life.
Instead of listening to those who either wished they'd done something similar and made the grade or only just talked about it!!
Cheers

Most of what`s bad about Australia, rampant jobsworths etc, ends up in the Police. We have several former Royals down here as traffic or mobile "beat" coppers plus a few heavy plod in the feds. From my infrequent dealings with the filth , the local Bill are farking exage. Total farking arsewipe with a badge.
Former Brit Pol or Pom turned plod and it`s fine. OZ jobsworth and you can stand by. You don`t realise how good British Police are till go elsewhere. Common sense doesn`t get a look in.
Same as the telly.
And the pubs
Fug nose why we came down here, kin `ates it oi duz

They can't be that good Harry otherwise you'd be banged up for a stretch.Ohh,Wait amo...thats how you ended up in Oz.
How long did King George give you?
Twenty with no chance of parole?
"And the said Felon, one Harold Hackedoff, would henceforth be transported in chains, to Our Colonies to suffer penile servitude for the rest of his natural life, without remit, recourse or favour."

Sorry to post this in full again but I can't be assed to edit it.
You reckon being a soldier is going to be less'boring and mindless'?
Think again.
I filled my graveyard shift chasing racoons around a vacant parking lot.
I don't think your going to be let loose with a Viking to do the same
