I just came back from the pre recruit training course, which is a 2 day trip before you go to halton for 9 weeks. there we did a fitness 'assesment'. It consisted of a beep test, 'proper pressups' and situps. The girls require to achieve a 7.2 on the beep test ( they said it was possible to get a copy at some gyms of the test ). Females need 13 pressups in a minute and 30 sit-ups in a minute. Im not sure how many girls didnt pass / did pass, but girls and boys conbined 40% of us failed on at least 1 aspect of the test. At some point during your 9 week training you are all required to complete this test, so if she was to find herself in a position like myself, im now required to use the 6 weeks I'v got untill I start training to get fit enough, and not start off the course by constantly trying to catch up.
Errr Harvey u r right about the fitness levels however at Halton you actually do this fitness test twice. The first time u do it is in the 2nd week and the asses what level u are at if u fail to complete any part of it during pt lessons u will be given remedial training on that part. The 2nd time u do it is the 2nd to last week and u r required to pass all of it if u fail u get back flighted i lost 3 0r 4 lads of my intake and 1 girl due to not being able to pass so the fitter u get now the better. Also do not believe what people tell u about needing to eat more than usual u dont need to just eat the same because the food they give u i stodgy and full of calories anyway.
