I cant believe they have sacked teaching the GPMG in depot
Why have they done that?
No idea. But the battalions are getting a bit pissed off when joebags arrive and have never seen a GPMG before, let alone touched one. And all the drills are basically the same as the LMG.

I think they should have both GPMG's and LMG's in depot because its what happens in battalion. Perhaps even teach the UGL aswell.

Is the UGL any good then? Didn't have 'em when I was around, and the LMG had only just arrived.

Yeh the UGL is a mega bit of kit. Quite heavy though. Makes an already heavy weapon even more of a heavy b@stard!

I wouldn't turn down an offer to have one on patrol though. RTR just became a whole lot more effective when you start popping off 40mil instead of the usual 2 rounds. :) Especially when they start issuing smoke and illum rounds for it aswell.

I hear it makes the A2 a more balanced rifle though? What's your thoughts on replacing the rifle mounted kit with a multi-shot grenade launcher instead? Obviously, both have their advantages and disadvantages.

No, i think the UGL is really effective in a section especially as you have 1 per fireteam.

Do you mean the GMG, as modelled by this hat :P ....

Nothing new or spectacular, I'm talking about a six shot man-portable MGL, not the heavy auto-cannon's like our friend above is sporting. :)

M32 MGL.

Cheeky cnut :P He`s wearing his lid in the Sniper position to keep the sun out of his eyes
Or did you mean he has a sloping head :-?

GPMG isn`t heavy ffs  26 pounds empty and 200 link only weigh 12 lbs ffs 8)

Once heard a dit about how those grenade launchers came into being which is so daft it`s probably gen  For the fillum "Dogs Of War" the director wanted to make the mercenaries look a bit serious so he asked the armourer on the fillum to come up with weapons which might look a bit er "ally" as you ladies like to say. So the geezer took the old single shot 51mm grenade launcher and "imagined" a revolver version. (There was no such weapon at the time, I`d like to point out  ) Some dick in Delta saw the movie and after having an auto-erotic event, contacted Elmer`s procurement agency and the rest is history.
As said, daft enough to be gen. Don`t say I said

You ain`t seen me, right 8)
