Just so that we get things in perspective, this is how bad it could get.

As a postscript, I have just gotten off the phone from my Portuguese girlfriend who is not a happy bunny. Putting that aside I spent two weeks in Portugal during Euro 2004, I returned late Friday night.
The Portuguese people were fantastic, they were very wary of the England fans prior to the competition and when the trouble kicked off in the Algarve the fear did not wane. As the competition progressed, the real fans were out in force in Lisbon. Result, a complete change of opinion. This is the first time in history that the England fans have gone home with more credit than the players.
After the high of England v Croatia, I was at the England v Portugal game and whilst of course I left disappointed it was a privilege to be at such an exciting game and to experience such an atmosphere.
Tonight I am disappointed for Portugal, the people are superbly welcoming and I for one sat watching the game wanting them to win it.
Obrigado Portugal, you put on a hell of a show.

Glad that Greece won. They didn't play well but with England out it would have been a shame to see another one of the big sides take the glory. I dont feel sorry for Portugal at all. They will have plenty more opportunities in the future. Besides I hate it when the host nation goes on to win. What are the odds of Greece winning it again?
Just goes to show that if you have determination and the will to succeed, you do not need famous players. France, England, Germany, Holland, Spain - famous players but poor performances.

The Best Is Yet To Come
It gets worse! I'm on a flight to Lisbon in the morning at 11:45 out of Heathrow for no other reason than to provide comfort. to a woman.
Jesus! it's a game of football, nothing more - no-one died.
I agree about Greece by the way, they won it in a sort of FA Cup 3rd round way. Portugal were a class above in skill but Greece were so well organised. Portugal could have played all night and not scored.
See ya'all on Wednesday! I'll bring you a Euro 04 shirt back, I believe they are selling them off cheap.
