Merry Christmas Defiant... I'm sure you will be part of some bigger thing and have your opportunity to feature in history. Good luck in the Army, that is where my understanding began. My old man was a "Pongo" joined from the Mines of West Riding (Grimethorpe)no real education but plenty of ambition. Joined an Armoured Recce regiment the 13/18th Royal Hussars as a Trooper and left as a Gentleman a Major no less after 27 years service.
So you see I have no problem with the Army or the RAF not even the RN (really). Don't let anyone force you down a road you do not wish to tread. But listen to those who have served they have their experiences too, listen and make your own path, but most of all be proud of who you are and those with whom you serve. Follow the Colours.
Good Luck and remember maintain a sense of humour in the end it is what you are left with.
