Was prepared for a more 'p*ssed off' answer to the 'are you a wannabe' question bootneck! :D

Can i ask you what it was like as a Royal Marine, and whether you would reccomend the job to someone else...like me :P (dont be fooled by the username, i am in the process of changing it as i am no longer 100% committed to joining para reg, i have gained interest further afield...RM! ), and what job did you do within the corps?

james, i`ve got more things to be pissed off about than a a bit of text on a screen.

I would recomend the Corps to anyone, and its what you make it, you can either go all the way, or do as i did, stay as a Cpl, the backbone of the Corps. I turned my Seniors down on a couple of occaisions, i was happy doing what i enjoyed doing, getting pissed with the lads.............and the wrens  . The Corps is very high profile at this present moment in time, and everything seems to hinge on them. You get to go onboard ship, and have Jolly Jack ferry you to all the far flung places around the globe. But one of the main things you`ll notice, ( you probably have already on this site) is the way we all watch each others backs, the commaraderie is second to non. The PU in Nantwich goes to prove that some of us had never met, but deep down inside, we already had, we had all experienced the highs and lows of training, and those that cracked on till the end, got their coveted "Green Beret". For me, i originally went to join jolly jack, but this hairy arsed Bootneck at the careers office thought/knew different, ( they must have been on commision) and the rest, as they say, is history. The thing is, i came out in 87, and i`m probably more Corps pissed now than when i was serving. all you have to do now, is get rid of that avatar of yours and get your arse down the carrers office, thats if they still call it that. whatever your decision, all the best, and see it through to the end.

Avatar is swiftly going  (my english teacher would kill me for splitting the infinitive, aye Chris  )

I have an appointment with the Armed Forces Careers Officer on tuesday of next week in Canterbury, i have waited too long to get the ball rolling and start my army/RM application.

Cheers

Canterbury, mmmmmmmm, anyone know Knocker White the AE? he used to live in Canterbury, and in the cellar of his house he had a bar........Corps colours the ish. He decided to have a new gas fire fitted one day, and the gas man arrived, removed the old fire, and fetched a board from his van :o he placed the board where the fire had once stood, and lit a little smoke pellet, closing the board back against the fire surround and going outside to watch the smoke come out the chimney  . well, he told Knocker that as there was no smoke, he couldn`t fit the fire, as there was no updraft. Hang on says Knocker, and went into the house, pulled an 83 smoke grenade, and lobbed it behind the board, went back outside to see a big smile on gasmans face, and BLUE smoke billowing out the chimney. Can`t argue with that, lets put the fire in. they went back inside, and where all the stuff in the front room had been "WHITE", it had all been turned Blue from the smoke, the board had fallen away from the fire surround, and done the dirty on Knocker.

James mate, I think I will have to "tell on you" to Syko about that infinitive splitting :D

Didn't realise that the Canterbury thing was so close, gd luck! Good to see you came straight on to Mil Forums as soon as you got home from Pippingford Park and hope today's jump trg went well.

Getting back to the topic (kinda), "unfortunatly" I haven't seen anything from sleeveles in a while!
