Its not just vision thats taken into account during the eye part of the medical. I was processed medically unfit for Pilot because of my eyes even thought i have perfect vision, i have astigmatism in one eye.

Just a heads up, its always best to get a full eye exam before OASC so you can get a second branch choice sorted that you are really committed to.

Just to clarify Jambagg (not correcting in a condescending way) your astigmatism is part of your diopter value.

The diopter value is the value of what most people perceive as their prescription (SPH or spherical value) and their CYL (cylindrical value also knows as astigmatism)

Whoever posted and said they had -9.75 in one eye then i would say good luck to you and would ask that you post as to what happens. I am actually going for an eye test tomorrow as on speaking to afco at length it may be possible for me to join RM so i'm going for a full eye exam tomorrow then thats being sent to an RM doctor to be assessed. if they give me the all clear then my application will be in pronto!

I have had the official word back from Cranwell and I am unfit all branches on the grounds of my eyesight.
Now looking at the possibility of laser to correct it and see if I can reapply in 12mths.
Does anyone know about the requirements for this??
