Joe, just to play Devil's advocate, who are you to make such accusations?

Who's to say that none on here will attempt Selection? Plenty might. There are serving Bootnecks and Paras here among others, and many who will one day serve.

Who's to say none are prepared to answer? There are plenty on here involved with RM and Para who may well have perfectly legitimate open-source knowledge of SF who can enlighten others to whatever extent does not compromise such units - which judging by a lot of the posts in this forum is a substantial amount more than common conceptions!

Of course, if you're badged, or even just an attatched rank, maybe Hereford MT or something, please let us all bow to your superior wisdom.

That said, there are a fair amount of posts in here that are just bone, or clearly would breach security if answered...think about it fellas, SF are SF for a reason

Why did joe cocker get binned?

Bit fcuking harsh dont you think?

The bloke actually was speaking some sense.

Druadan, perhaps some on here may attempt selection and hell, some may pass. But i for one would feel like a complete walt asking any SF related question in this environment on and open internet forum. Surely any soldier with SERIOUS aspirations to go SF will atleast have the common sense to ask one of their many burning questions to someone in work who has done the course.

Infact, i actually feel a bit waltish for reading this section of the forum let alone post in it.

Just to clarify.
Joe_Cockup got binned because he was really waltcatcher who gave Sneaky a hard time a while back accusing him of being a walt which he is plainly not.

Para, like I said I was playing devil's advocate. In the light of the nature of this forum, where the majority are aspiring rather than serving, personally I feel it is a good thing to try and get it through to young lads that SF is not necessarily what you read/watch/hear it to be, as I said dispelling some of the myths. I agree completely that it's not the place to be asking detailed questions about joining/training/activities; as you say, anyone with a need to know such stuff will have far better points of contact than here who are able to disclose more.

What does someone's post count have to do with anything?

I've been reading this forum for 6 months.

I made an observation based on that, backing up another members opinions.

Thing is livingthedream, that means that you read the forums for 2 months, then joined up and posted a little bit about doing the Paras10 race next year, than disappeared off the radar again for 3 months, only to pop up now in support of someone (who we know to be a troll, and you don't know at all) having a go at the moderators.

None of us have had any dealings with you, so it just makes you look like a little bit of a wally.

That said, how are you getting on with your bergen? Up to the right weight yet?

This post has got out of hand now, various points made here good/bad are worth a looking at..

My Two pence on this is

The abuse of power and the provoking of arguments made by members/guests/mods is one to be looked at, I've had my fair share of arguments and problems but the rule for us and the rule for mods should change, I agree with both sides of the argument but the way sarcastic posts (dare I say it) made by Mods and more so Guests & Users to provoke reactions from the less sensible of us (inc me) is crazy, no doubt i'll be hung drawn and quartered for this post but I'm used to it now.

I'm just bringing to light what a few people here think..
