Whatever you decide to do, I'd finish your a-levels mate. If the forces aren't for you, or you get medically discharged etc etc then you'll have a more options for plan B.

Definitely. I was in the same position as you last year. I just couldn't stand going to college five days a week while living at home. Since then I've moved out, but still go to college and have a place on the POC for bursary applicants on the 30th of June. College might be shit at the moment, but it all follows through in the end and you'll have A-levels and, more importantly, better prospects both in the Corps and in the wider world.

Take a leaf out of my book when I was in school I messed around and didn't really try always wanted to join the forces left school and went to college and did public services.

When I was 19 I joined the Marines, I thought I was invincible I couldn't have been more wrong. I ran with my leg fractured for a month ending up in Hunter coy and was facing medical discharge, but I decided to leave before I was medically discharged.

Since leaving the Corps I work in a restaurant, chefing, I hate it. I get paid £6.50 to run around a I'M A SCAMMER SPAMMER!!! like a blue arse fly and get no appreciation.

What I'm trying to say is I'd give anything to go back into school so that I could of worked harder on my exams so I would of had something to fall back on while I'm in civvie street.

IE even if you hate your school work keep at it in life we all have to do things we hate.

rossy-d, stick at them. Would be a waste to give up on them now. Are you thinking more Rating or Commissioned entry? Was your dad in the RM's as well?

I'm aiming for summer time hopefully trying to loose civie fat lol lost one stone got two to go training with my mate when he's home who is Para reg.
