It's quite strange. I don't have a problem getting up in the mornings. Mon - Fri i get up at 5 AM and I'm off straight to the gym. On the weekends i can sleep in for 15 hours quite easily.
Couple of tips. Soon as your alarm goes off jump out of bed and either stand or sit for a few minutes. You'll soon come around. At all costs don't get back into bed !!
You could get one of those lights that gradually get brighter and brighter until you awake naturally. They do work.
Or wake up in the morning to Bill Conti - Gonna fly now !!! Not only will this get you up, but you'll down a dozen eggs, you'll put on your grey sweats and start running with bricks in your hands.
Most important thing is getting enough rest. I always try and get 8 hours sleep, but sometimes i have to settle with 5. Your body grows, repairs itself whilst you rest. So i guess thats why i sleep so long on the weekends.

damn you for stealing my thread...hehe... i find that i improve my running by timing the run.. just finished a run that i used to do in 16 mins when i was about 19 or so mangaged to get it down to 13.53, obviously its been a long time since i timed that run so i'd improved over the period of constantly running it..
theres also finding a steep hill, running up it and rest period on the walk down then repeat until your body wont let you continue... should build your stamina up alot more..

i find that if i have to go somewhere or do something its a real strain getting out of bed but if i dont then i find im usally out of bed say 10 min after i was supposed to get up anyway and feel like i m totally motivated so i tryed the dreaded snooze button for ten min then that turned into 15 then 20 then 30 then mext thing i know im gettin phone calls from my gaffer sayin "WHERE THE EFFIN HELL ARE U U LITTLE KNOBJOCKEY I'LL TEAR UR EFFIN FACE OFF U LITTLE SH1T " so now i just get up wether i want to or not to save meself the hassle of an earbashing
