I think its an excellent experience as a younger lad, being at a young age your adventurous and looking for excitment, you see a challenge posed and you take it, just because somethings hard doesn't mean its not for you, in your case being md'ed thats shit, but its no reason to say that younger bloke shouldn't go, because you gained a lot of life skills in training that you wouldn't gain on civi street, ive learned a whole bunch of new skills that will be with me for the rest of my life. The sleeping deal is something thats rough on you for the first bit because lets face it we're used to 12 hours sleeps after getting back from going on the piss at 3 in the morning, but after a while you learn to deal with the sleep deprivation. As for ropes no one should be concerned or even really consider trying to climb ropes before they get there because first off the don't know the correct technique and second off the rm will teach you and build you gradually, they don't need someone that can do everything, they want to teach you. Ill agree with you though you definetly have to be mentally determined to do it though, if your a weak minded individual then this isnt for you, because the barriers that you are required to break at times are quite substantial, but if you want it you'll do it.jacko1234 wrote:Well thought id say before anyone else does haha , got medically discharged just before leave from lympstone for wheezing symptoms , found out yesterday that it was nothing to do with asthma and i was just ill but oh well damage is done now . Im 16 now and im alowd back in 4 years so im going to get my a levels out of the way and definetly go back . tips from me would be .
. DO NOT go to rt if your 16,17 years old , live your life abit first you'll have to be a very mentally determined young bloke to get through rt at this age , i found it very difficult
Get used to getting up early and doing alot of admin , because you will do alot of ironing e.t.c .
Try if you can do a bit of rope climbing before you get down there as this posed quite a difficulty to a few recruits.
These are just my thoughts on the matter. Good luck to all goin to R.T in the future.!!

sorry to hear about the discharge, did you need medical treatment and feel you needed to seek a doctor, or was it as simple as your pti noticing some weezing after a raining session?

Hello jacko! Finally got my fookin internet workin so can post wahey! was shit you gettin md'd mate but yeh definately go for it again, and i do agree with you about the age, the lads that are 16-17 in our troop do show their immaturity sometimes and it can be frustratin, but aslong as they sort their act out then no one will have a problem! we're in the 6 man rooms now which is alot nicer then foundation block believe lol. What you upto now fella? hope all is well.

Sorry for late reply lads , all that happened was i noticed tightness in my chest so i told the doctor he told me to look out , he said it could be asthma coming back , it happened several times before i went back and got discharged. Thing is i had it diagnoses as a chest infection when i came back so i got discharged basically for nothing .
Don't consider failure and then it wont consider you!
