In my day medics were all from the Navy, some RAMC with 29 and 59 but mainly RN. Didnt get more pay.
Now RM can specialise as a Medic and stay in the Corps. SO now there are RM medics, RN Medics and RAMC medics within 3 Commando Brigade. RAMC stay with 29 and 59 and have a post within Med Sqn CdoLogRegt for a Sgt.
If you go RM Medic you do the same RM training, spend some time as a grav then train with the RN to be a medic. RN Medics do the Commando course after Medic training.
Medic course used to last 12 months, not sure what it is now its in Aldershot and Tri-service.

Its ok, theres a policy now of asking no questions in regard to your sexual preference.i will have to come out someday
Mate just get PRMC done then RT, then as with everyone else you'll get a draft to a unit. Do a few years, explore the opportunites within the Corps then decide. Its alot different in, then it is looking in from the outside. What you want now and what you see and then want maybe different things, plus what you want maybe full when you want it.
One step at a time young 'un.
As for the juniors thingy, the training is no different now I believe, just you cant deploy to live firing countries until your over 18.

Dan I would suggest you do some reading up on the corp's,
http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/server/show/nav.2566 would be a good place to start. When you talk to the careers advisor you should at least show some basic knowledge!!

Its OK Dan, you can face up to your real self here. No one will judge you. If you take a look around the site then you will find certain members who are "listeners". You can chat to these people about your fears and they will give you all the support you need when you decide to come out.
Cheers
James
