Question for guys in training...
One thing you'll realize in training DaveB is that your training team will expect you to crack on at all times which is a good thing but can also be bad, it sometimes is a case of i go to sick bay and get this sorted asap and miss 3 days worth of phys (which may piss the team off) or i carry on and end up i hunter with a major problem. Which will take months to sort, you training team want to get you through so they will push you but you also have to sensible enough to know when to look after yourself. Don't forget they've got their lid already so they dont really care if you pass out or not. You've got to get yours yet so you got to look after yourself.
Training's a marathon not a sprint! It doesn't matter when and where you finish just as long as you finish.

I would like to ask while on the topic rugee, is there a kind of time span that they would kick you out of lympstone within? what i mean is, say some one got there and they got them selves injured within the first week but was only minor and you couldnt carry on for a few days. Would they send you packing or keep you in. Its just i really am confused with all the technical jargon i was being shown at My AFCO with the contract and so on and with injuries.
regards
Basically mike if you turn up with an injury they will nfa med you, which basically means you can join up again once your problem is sorted. If you injure yourself within the first few weeks they are prepared you to put you in hunter, but allot of it depends on the indivdual from what i understand i.e. how motivated you are and how bad the injury is. Theres lads in hunter who are week 4. If its just a twinge say they will give you a no phys chit which basically means you have a few days to rest it. And you won't get backtrooped.
Top tip though, don't get injured in the first place and you'll be sorted

This is what i dont understand....
It says on the RM website and in the green book that you have three attempts to pass each exercise and physicle test, BUT also on the RM site it says Hunter company is for A. People who are injured and B. Recruits who are struggling with the physicle aspects of the course.
So what exactly happens after u fail a physicle test the third time, are you actully booted out or do they just put you in hunter, beast you silly until you're fitter then get backtrooped ?
I always wondered about this because i thought what if a recruit was around week 24 and failed the BPT passout 3 times, wouldn't it be a waste kicking him out when they could just use hunter for a couple of weeks to get him fitter ?

You get three attempts at each physical test, however each physical test in itself may contain three attempts, if that makes sense! eg. BPT pass out if you fail the Monday, you can retake the Tuesday, and again the Wednesday, before being Huntered for extra phys. Then you join a new troop, and again have three attempts. If you get back trooped three times for it you get kicked out.
Same is true of some speed marches, if you fail them once you may be able to fit in one or two reruns with your current troop, all depends on time available. Obviously they're not gonna be able to get you to rerun a 12 mile yomp, fail it and that's you backtrooped, so you only get 3 attempts all told. Same with Cdo tests, fail one and backtrooped, backtrooped 3 times for same failing and you're out.

REPLY:DAVEB
dave i agree with what other guys are saying, when i joined army i got a serious back injury and never gave chance to heal, im okay now but it was terrible, could not even sleep at night, now im 27 and have learned to live with the pain but perhaps if id let it heal then i would'nt be suffering now, so okay your worrying about gettin into marines right now,but dont forget bout the future,...by waiting till your 100% now could save you from fuc*kin up ur health in future.
Cheers again for the replies lads. You're right....I'm gonna go to chiro on Monday for more treatment (as this was booked) then go onto the AFCO and delay again.
Like Rugee said 'Training's a marathon not a sprint!'....that is so true. I've been waiting all my life to do this, so a few more weeks/months isnt gonna hurt to get me 100% again. I wanna give my 32 weeks training 110%, not being injured from the word go.
I could even ask my chiro/sports therapist person if she could write a note to confirm/prove to my AFCO that she says I'm not fit to start training yet.
Don't get me wrong, having to delay my entry again for the 3rd time cos of this torn muscle is like rubbing my balls in sandpaper.....not good, and I hate having to mess around the AFCO, but this is my future and what I've always wanted to do.

Just got back from the Navy Careers office.
I have delayed it until I am fit this time, basically I am going to give them a call when I feel I am fit enough to start training, so therefore I can get 100% in my own time (as long as it's before December 1st - when my PRMC runs out). Also, it stops me messing them around having to delay all the time.
I gotta say, it was so hard going back there and handing in my travel warrant. My AFCO was visably down that I had had to delay again as he knows how bad I wanna get in there.
In the end, the two AFCO guys and me were having a laugh though and it was all light hearted. They know I aint putting it off cos I'm scared or anything, they know I have a proper (bad) injury and know it will take time to heal.
