How Do You Get Out During Basic Training???

He should stick at it, and get his act together!!!! I had thought the same after 3 weeks, my dad also an ex-guardsman told me i wasnt allowed home (fair point)!!!! Look at me now lance sergeant in the grenadier guards

If that's so then I think you need to update you profile from soon to be guardsman..... :o

Seconded. There were times when I hated being in there (mostly when I was frozen, or soaking wet) and all I could think about was leaving. There were other times (just as many if not more!) when I felt I never wanted to leave. Sadly I eventually left, and after I got used to sleeping till 9 in the morning again, I eventually thought "Why did I do that?". Soemthing I've thought for the past year, while I sit here being increasingly bored with my civvie public service job :(.

The Army is where you will have the worst, and the best times of your life. Take the rough with the smooth, tell him to get his head down and get on with it, and it'll be worth it in the end :) .
