Lee, you were querying Fartlek on another thread - offering advice is all well and good but not being aware of this rather well known running technique does raise questions as to the quality of advice to be offered.

www.MFAT.co.uk is your best bet for fitness and training advice should the wealth of knowledge on this forum not suffice.

you seem to be a very touchy young man lee. There are people on this forum that are a lot older and wiser than you so I suggest you wind your neck in and open your ears.

You are still at collage and I presume that you haven't attempted any selection course yet. Things in reality are colder and harsher than in your mind. Ask any ex, serving or training bootneck and they'll tell you that learning your place in the hierarchy is a very important step. I would place myself at the bottom of this forums hierarchy because I am currently a "wannabe". I am 25, have a degree and have been supporting my self since I started Uni. I have attempted POC and am awaiting my PRMC in Jan. This is nothing - many men here are at this stage, more are further along the line.

Listen and take criticism on the chin, they'll be a touch frostier at CTCRM so your skin will need to thicken up alot.

I think you need to stop overreacting.

With regards to what I said:
Your posts tend to be full of naivity, not just about the forces but in general and I think you're not best placed to start advising youngsters when there is an excellent resource within touching distance.

Best tip that i can give is to find a buddy who is also going in the direction of the marines. I myself found someone who has passed his POC (officers course) so thats bloody marvelous! That way you can push each other.

Also i find that constant press-ups will also help you. Each week increase your press-ups max by 5. Even if you THINK you can't manage you can. Hell, a good way to prepare is to punish yourself if you screw one press-up up by making yourself do an extra 10, that way you might be a worse pti to yourself than the actual ptis during training. Btw make sure you carry out pressups in the correct marine fashion, head up, elbows in!

I'll post my daily training program that was made for me by someone who trained olympic athletes - he knows he stuff and since being on his training program i can wack out 90 pressups in the correct way and 35 pullups.

Lee you seem like a nice guy and i expect you will do well, but you need to wake up to the real world as you wont last long with that reactionary attitude in the RM. You need to understand that critism isnt always negative, especially in these forums, so just lighten up boy and stop being so arrogant! :D

I know what its going to be like for the PRMC and 32 Weeks, I'v herd the sotrys, read the books etc I dont know everything about it but I get the over view. I'm not being arrogant, I'm sticking up for myself and theres nothing wrong with that. He was giveing good critism he was being rude.
