Same here. I think I've got about ten poppies at the moment.Sticky Blue wrote:I can't walk past an old boy and not drop some cash in his tin without feeling guilty as hell

Poppy ban on UTV.
I've been out selling poppies as well & it seems to me that demand for them is pretty high. People are also willing to give quite a bit of money to the Poppy Appeal - one bloke gave £20 last night for 1 poppy. It doesn't seem like it's in decline over here.

Tab to put the record straight, I live in N. Ireland for starters and my father is the poppy orginiser for his Royal British Legion branch.Tab wrote:barrybudden, well lets put the record straight, I have been out selling poppies and I have been clocking up £100.00 per hour. Every hour I have to go back and get another tray and tin they are selling that fast. The problems is getting people to do this sort of work, every one seems to think some one else should be doing it. Also you can only sell poppies on the Street one week before Remembrance Day Services, they are on sale two weeks before that in the shops, but again it is the problem of finding some one to take them out to the shops and then collect them again. Now what have you done except moan?????
More power to you for selling so many. However you might have a few problems selling that number over here at the minute.
I have helped my Dad sell poppies from I was a wee lad. Not for the last couple of years though as I'm training at night for the cenotaf on Sunday, I'm doing honour guard.
Cheers.
