Going back to the original post, you can go straight into Officer training with the TA. I am currently on module two of TAOC (TA Officers Course) and there is a mix of UPO's (Unit Potential Officers) and Direct Entrants. If you want to know anymore PM or e-mail me.

You misread my post , what i was saying is that as a TA soldier I dislike being referred to as a "Tom" by somone who has no experience of military life , ie a Civvy

I had not come across the phrase before I used this site and I was interested to find out the origin
