to join the US military you must have a green card (permenent residence) which is a complete bastard to get BTW! im getting mine (hopefully) because i married a US citizen, applied 2 yrs ago and am still waiting for an interview! took 12 mths for them to acknowledge id applied!
ah well....

p.s. FYI the military are prevented by law from helping you get your papers
