Any nutritionists out there????
What you are doing is keeping a high level of blood sugar.
This is akin to using stimulants (coffein) and therefor you peak
and trough.
Basically a sinus curve.
As you can tell this is not the kind of nutrition you need for endurance training, as sugar is only a quick fix.
I am already starting to eat 4-5 meals a day and taking 2 300ml nutritional supplement drinks (54%protein, 46%carbohydrate) and still get hungry!!!!
Train sensibly eat even more sensibly.
And dont forget to rest!!!!

I remember many many years ago when I was 14 we went for the obligatory 1km cross country run at school...nothing spectacular, but I hated it and out of 30 came 26, mainly because I had slight asmtha.
I then went running on my own, slowly at first and then I built it up and increased my distance etc....gradually the asthma went!
The following year I did the same run and came 3rd, behind two from the school cross country team (which I was then invited to join!)
I went on to increase my distance and eventually did hill training and ended up a good middle distance runner. I went on to run for school college and my regiment and that wheezing kid seems a million miles away (Well, it was 14 years!)
SO, GET OUT THERE AND TRAIN...DON'T GO MAD, TAKE IT STEADY!

Find something that you like doing
Running (preferably crosscountry)
Cycling
Swimming
or even if possible hillwalking, nothing like a good jomp to get the lungs working
And start easy, and rest.
A lot of endurance training is also about resting so that your body can recover to continue training

If you've got a sweet tooth try some of this:
Sugar-Block - (Will Power Booster!)
Often termed as the pocket “will power booster”. Sugar block is a patent pending herbal extract of
the plant gymnema sylvestre. This unique extract has been shown to knock out your sweet taste
buds. It's very simple, 3-5 squirts in your mouth and within 30 seconds any sweet foods, such as
chocolate, cakes, sweets, biscuits, will taste of nothing making them tasteless and therefore very
hard to eat. Remember we only eat sweet foods, to get the serotonin (feel good hormone) release
by the brain. If the foods we normally associate with pleasure, i.e. chocolate, cakes, etc... don't
taste sweet and therefore don't trigger the release of serotonin, your liking and desire to continue
eating them vanishes. Obviously your brain will still crave sweet products. It has been taught over
many years, that eating sweet foods can release serotonin. However, with the continuous use of
Sugar Block, your liking of sweet foods will disappear over time. Sugar block also has the
positive benefits of acting similar to Thermovate, helping you stay lean.
(Sugar Block can be combined with any of the other fat burners here.)
You can get the same sugar content from eating lots of fruit. But fruit has the added advantage of pottasium, etc.

I wouldn't think so all it does is stain your tongue to provent the taste penetrating through to your taste buds.
http://store.maximuscle.co.uk
I got this site from someone on this site. Good stuff!!. Download the stuff on diet (in PDF format). Because just cutting the sugar out of your diet would probably be unacceptable to your body, and you'll feel wasted all the time. I'm gunna get some :
Creatamax-8000ES (Muscle Size and Strength Creatine Formula)
Creatine is the most researched of all supplements. Creatine has been shown time and time again
to be highly effective at increasing lean muscle, strength, endurance, stamina and power, whilst
being safe. Creatamax-8000ES allows far greater amounts of creatine to be used than normal, for
more effective and positive results. People feel results within days and notice physique changes
within weeks. More popular with the guys.

I'm sort of worried about these muscle-boosting things though. They just dont seem right to me.
Ill have a look around the site and see if there is anything else I need.
Thanks again mate, your like the A-Z of foodstuffs.

About a year ago I was taking Creatine, and I found after about a month I notice significant changes in endurance and strength. And that was just with pure Creatine Monohydrate, with a wastage of 80-90%. This new stuff they have invented has a wastage of about 10%. They use Dextrose (Much like Glucose) to transport the Creatine into your body. Sounds good.

hmm
Interesting stuff thanks
my husbands a very keen rugby player, he trains hard for strength and endurance.
But the only concessions ive seen are he eats a lot of tuna, chicken, pasta.
Alongside all the curries, and weekend beer!!
A lot of the guys at our gym take creatine as well, uie few take "liquid protein", do you think a lot of these sports products are a bit overhyped? and that a diet can do the job as well?

Creatine
Creatine is naturally produced in your body, and yes a healthy balanced diet is what you need when doing exercise. But I really do beleave that creatine is a brilliant formula to take whilst doing exercise and eating well. I think the psychological affects along with the phisical affects drive you to a peak faster.
