You should be aiming for about 10:45.

If you cant comfortably run the 2.4 Km then you're going to find the whole 8 weeks (thats assuming you last 8 weeks) extremely challenging.

Get down the gym and lay of the beer.

I know in my first week that i will have to run 2.4k/m in 12mins and 20secs which is no problem since i can do it in 11mins abd 40secs, but it is the more exacting 2.4k/m run i am worried about, how much harder is it and is 11mins and 40 secs good enough?

It's only a mile and a half mate, run it hard 3 days a week (over land, not treadmills) and you'll lose time very quickly; Give it two weeks of that and I reckon you'll crack 11 minutes no problems...stop worrying and start running

looking at some of the young peeps in the booklets, they don't seem like the super fit athletic types. (although you shouldn't judge a book by the cover)
i think the tests are all passable, but some are gonna be more challenging than others. its just a case of 110% effort, and a healthy dose of
pullage the fingerage out of the arseage

Has anyoen got any advice on how to get my times down evan further apart from carry on running.

Try tying rockets to your trainers, that might help (it might melt your prize nikes though :( )

i have a question about raleigh, and it may sound silly, but do you get paid during the 8/10 week training period?

You get paid 30th of the month, if you start 21st you get the 9 days on the next month pay slip. its 33.32 a day (off top of head). I have compiled a 6 week training thing explaining everything that happens here. not too good as sometimes i dont have time to fill it out and have to remember back. but it tells everything about here really, something i would have liked to have before i came, so be greatful!

Bovie.

It's about £28.00 a day after tax and other deductions.
