glasgow, ya pays your money and you takes your chances, most of them would be shyte scared of comming out the closset onboard anyway, they`d be having midnight swimming lessons. your bound to get a few, they`re everywhere now. just let them know you`ve just come out of prison for murdering one.

I don't think it's too much of an issue. If you're that bothered about it then join the Marines instead

Saying that, my mate had a gay PTI when he was going through training at CTC. Apparently no-one was hostile to him but obviously there was a fair bit of banter. :agrue:

nah the marines isnt for me. as much as i'd like the rolling about the mud and the rest of it i wouldnt enjoy it for life, or at least 4 years.

i'm thinking more of operator mechanic communications. i'd still get the forces experience, the PT, but i'd be warm and dry, most of the time. also in the RN as an OM (c) i'd be able to study for GCSEs and A-Levels

Glasgow, you can do all that schooling in any of the services, I knew a guy who spent more time at school than he did in the company....i scoffed then, but who was more switched on? Good on you as well, getting a trade behind you, something that`ll stand you in good stead when your a civvie

Anyway, after a long time at sea you may want to give it a try :o
Fortunately I never spent that long at sea.

I heard the women in the navy have the tendancy to sort of whore themselves out for $. As the only other alternative for months at sea is you hand. Can't say if its true or not.

Has anyone else heard of this. I think that's absolutely disgusting and I’d rather give myself a quick one than pay a slut.

That makes me feel sick.

Found this... seems fairly apt for this thread.

"Billy Don't Be A Queer oh"

the gay parade came marching down main street
they showed their legs and bare behinds..
up on the float, well, there stood old billy
dancing a storm up, just devine..
and then he grabbed some old guys shoulder
another life has gone astray
from where I stood, thought billy was tryin,
to tell the world he's fully gay

billy, don't be a queer, oh
don't be a fool with your life
billy don't be a queer, oh,
why don't you just get a wife?
and as he passed on the float,
I said, billy, you silly goat
billy, don't be a queer, oh
act naturally..

the float went by, I thought what a waste there
he always seemed a ladies man
but how could I know that he loved chest hair
he hated sarahs, loved the stans
he always volunteered to model,
and always he'd impress
but I didn't know every moment
he loved to wear a frilly dress

billy, don't be a queer, oh
don't be a fool with your life
billy don't be a queer, oh,
why don't you just get a wife?
and as he passed on the float,
I said, billy, you silly goat
billy, don't be a queer, oh
act naturally..

I heard his mum and dad got a letter,
to tell them , hey there guys, I'm gay
the letter said, he was a queer, oh
that he was surely born that way..
I heard they threw the letter away
