Lewis 'grovelling' Moonie was on the radio this morning, "The civil servant has made a mistake and has been shown the errors of his ways." Chuffing wonderful, doesn't help Mrs Seymour, who gets the, "We'll look into it treatment." And they wonder why people leave the services without continuing to 22?
It' an absolute disgrace; shoddy and shambolic treatment of a widow. If she had been an illegal or asylum seeker i doubt they would have treated her so harshly, but what do I know?
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

You are correct barry c, it is often the military machine that screws up. In my own case after I was wounded in Belfast my wife got a knock at the door, there stood a Lt. RM. He told my wife I had been wounded, could not tell her how seriously, could not tell her whereabouts on my body. My wife, being a nurse had all sorts of images running through her head.
After a couple of weeks in the civilian hospital the military insisted that I be released to them as it was apparent I was in for a long hospital stay. Wife and kids live in Plymouth, I get taken to Pompey and my wife could not drive at that time. It took me over two weeks to fight my way to Plymouth and no arrangements were made for my wife to visit me in Pompey.
The final irony was, not having walked for 9 months under my own steam, without the assistance of leg irons. I was drafted to HMS Ganges as the expeditionary instructor.
We don't seem to have learned from our past mistakes.
typical of some 'pensworth' trying to justify his/her performance related pay. I shall be lobbying my MP to introduce a new version of the Health and Safety at Work act (HASWA). For work read war.
What price a union in the forces to represent squaddies welfare interests now, guys?

Hi Jan.........'Mickey Rooney' Moonie is a big mate of mine, his PPS in the MoD told me to watch what I post under the DPA (Data Protection Act) 1998, I returned an appropriate email to him. it went something like this.....
I'll tell you what though that Veterans Agency, certainly knows how to look after its Vets, somehow they say that SYMPATHY lies somewhere in the dictionary between $hite and syphilis so I guess that's how compassionate they can be, how do I know, I've been there!
Now therein lies a story, my Lad is one of the kids that the Mod said shot himself with the Kenneday Bullet, two entry wounds two exit wounds one bullet fired, so my love for the MOD Abounds
If anyone doesn't know the story re Alfie Graham Manship, then just visit Jans website <WWW> above, like the Chinook and hundreds (nay thousands) of other 'cover-ups' justice will prevail one day.................
To take up a point made by Flo,earlier in this thread ... the only "Debt" remaining is the "Debt" which we,as a Nation owe to our Servicemen & Women ... we have (foolishly ?) entrusted the repayment of that "Debt" to the Clowns now resident in the Palace of Westminster ... the question should be ... When will WE,as Voters ever learn ?

Keep Working .... Millions on Benefit depend on YOU !!!
I think the whole system needs a good over haul, how many of the service personel who risk thier lives to help others are aware of what happens if they are killed in action. i must say i never asked i suppose you all expect everyone to pull out all the stops to help those who remain. If i was in now i would certainly ask for a revue of the whole situation
