Best RAF fighter jet in 2003 ?? Some info please
Apologies to anyone who thinks this is boring. Futher to my earlier post, this story from recently released and declassified data seems to show that stealth technology is indeed being developed for FOAS.

heres another one about the FOAS, got some describing pictures but no hard facts.
seems this hasnt even been discussed at MoD yet. it could be a new build, a modification of an old build, a UAV, according to some of the pictures on the left it could be a missile shoved out the back of a herkybird. i know its still 15 years untill they start pushing back the operational deadline, but how long did it take to get the EF going?
and do you think maybe they're going to put a cannon on this one, when they realise how much of a big fat arse-over-tit they are doing with eurofighter?

I think they are unsure as to the format yet, but they should get it sorted as too much umming and arghing will give another Eurofighter balls up. Thats probably the main consideration at the moment, manned or unmanned. But one serious option being considered is a manned FOAS controlling 3 or 4 unmanned ones or guiding them so how, also Austrailia is in on the show, apparently.
Hopefully a British stealth aircraft will spark a revival in the aerospace industry, and the release of information near the budget may not be accidental.

another set of questions
If you are a tornado fighter pilot in Kuwait o.k
How long does it take to do a misson in Baghdad and get back to Kuwait ?
How many feet are the pilots flying above ground ?
How many specific targets does a fighter pilot (per plane) hit generally, in relation to this war ?
Is one misson equivalent to a sortie ??
How many planes go an a misson (or sortie) together ( Is that a squadron ?) who's incharge up in the air ?
How many sorties does a fighter pilot do on average (i.e per day/week ) or in this war 3 weeks.
During the bombing, I saw this light thingys dropping from the planes, they were not bombs, are they like deflectors or something ?
How do pilots protect themselves in hostile territory vs AAA, ( I know they do these slick manoevres), do they do anything else ?
Finally, can someone explain to me what is G-Force ,I've read the mathematical version, someone please explain it to a non-miltary person.
The pilots wear these anti G suits- what do they do in relation to G-force ?
Sometimes these pilots lose consciousness in air, why ? Are they not already on oxygen up there ??
Please do not mind if I asked alot of questions, I'm just curious, and was very inquisitive as a child !!). Take your time boys !!

I`ll try and answer some of the questions that i`m pretty confident on, someone will have to field the rest.....
A pilots training and fitness dictate the amount of G they can sustain. Also the aircraft dictates the G`s capable, highly manouvable fighter Jets can make high G turns. Hopefully someone else can explain it a bit better.
I hope that has answered some of your questions.
Usually from what I knowMarina wrote:

They are usually decoy flares, used to counter infrared missiles.Marina wrote: During the bombing, I saw this light thingys dropping from the planes, they were not bombs, are they like deflectors or something ?
From what I know, they try to avoid them the best they can.... usually by flying high.Marina wrote: How do pilots protect themselves in hostile territory vs AAA, ( I know they do these slick manoevres), do they do anything else ?
G-force is the amount of force on your body. G meaning Gravity. 1 G is the amount of gravity that is normally exerted on your body when on earth at any time. So 9 G`s is 9 times this force of gravity. This increase in G`s is caused by centrifical force while turning in a aircraft or other device. Like when you take a bottle of water and tip it upside down fast the water stays at the bottom when upside down for short amount of time.Marina wrote: Finally, can someone explain to me what is G-Force ,I've read the mathematical version, someone please explain it to a non-miltary person.

G-Suits squeeze the pilots legs when in a G-turn keeping the blood from pooling in the pilots legs, therefore keeping the blood in the upper body. Therefore the brain will continue to have enough blood increasing the pilots ability to make higher G-turns before blackout occurs.Marina wrote: The pilots wear these anti G suits- what do they do in relation to G-force ?
Pilots lose consciousness because of the blood leaving the head called a Black out. In a negative G turn, when all the blood goes to the pilots head, we get a red out.Marina wrote: Sometimes these pilots lose consciousness in air, why ? Are they not already on oxygen up there ??

The cannon that was looked at to be fitted to the typhoon is being reconsidered in the project. The whole airframe may be redesigned due to a problem with the airintakes at the front (they cant decide between square or oval).
They are also still considering the possibility of a 'hover', thats hover not HOOVER. Who would let a pilot into battle with a multimillion hoover, no matter how could a joke it might be
But the hover version is a possibility to replace the sea harriers which at sth momment have no replacment when they go out of service

Anyway what's a nice girl like you doing in a dump like this, is it voluntary work with those less fortunate? If so you've found your niche, there is only one sane one amongst us, and I don't come on here often,
Must go, I hear the rattle of the medication trolley
