Here is an idea but depends on you having like minded mates. Me and a few pals are going abroad over the summer and taking in the sights of Spain while running and camping. Of coars it doesnt have to be abroad, you could easily do it in one of the Natinal Parks, keep fit, take in scenery, cheap and have a laugh with mates. Like the indoor triathlon idea, not sure about Top Gun...

If you find yourself sitting down being lazy start singing songs from mary poppins, within minutes you'll be training like a man posessed trying to get 'that f@@king song' out of your head.
Number 1 top tip (or number 1 no-no possibly):
Give your mother a copy of your training programme!
''Have you been for that run yet??????????????''
''do those press ups''

Intruiging...
As for mumsy pretending to be a PTI, im not so sure. She's too small and just not scary enough.
Anyway speaking of such matters im going to get my arse in gear and go for that run. Started celebrations last night for finishing uni exams - was going to take the rest of the week off, have an easy week, but just have this god damn need to go and train...fool.

Dave, I've edited your comment about your Mother disappearing in short sharp jerky movements. Be nice to your Mum, at least she loves you, because sure as eggs, nobody else does, ya ugly little bassa!

I've employed the owner of my gym to come and knee cap me if I don't turn up on a daily basis....Boxings quite good to take up, as you never want to miss a session.

Not just silly, it's bloody impossible. A hole year without drink, I can hardly go a week without drinking. I don't know if that's normal or not, but it's not good.

Watch one episode of Big Brother or something like Jerry Springer (British equivalents, but not JS). That will make you think - civilian life is crap. The next day, youll be running like forest gump. Alternatively, go to McDonalds and get affraid by looking at the employees.
As for drink - im probably the only person who doesnt like to drink. I dont mind the odd pint, but I used to get pissed weekly, and didnt like it. Every time I got sick id just think - never again, its not worth it. 10 hangovers later and I decided to f@#k it. I lost a couple of friends to that - not to the drink, but to my teetotal behaviour - didnt like paying for a crate themselves! But its like smoking (which I also used to do), it uses up your money and at the end of the day it does nothing for you.
Do what I do for motivation - give up drink untill when you get your green beret. Promise yourself the biggest night after that. Afterall, Lucazade tastes a lot nicer than lager...even though I do miss Scorpian Lager.
