If you look at what people get told about suppliments. There's conflicting evidence for everything, whether it's good for you or not. These powders only replace things like pottasium and essentual salts that you loose through sweeting (and constantly sh*tting yourself), and general fluid loss. These things are found in saline drips and sports drinks etc. So they can't be detramental to your health. I'm more worried about drinking cheap colas and things like that, due to things like aspartame. My dad worked for the government giving the ok on chemicals that are put in food and drinks. And when Aspartame was initially introduced to us years ago. It was passed without much research into it. If you search the net for the chemical it will tell you it's a neuro toxic, which has adverse effects on behaviour and personality.(Grim) And this stuff is found in most cheap drinks.

Well I'm back.........
I passed, just, but it looks as If I'm just another wanabee. I hated almost every minute of it & the chances of me returning to do the 30 weeks is slim to none,
I met Andy but didn't realise who he was until I just checked his profile, he'll tell you how he got on I suppose.
Some of the lads were good blokes and we had a few jokes, in that asepct it was alright, everything else felt totally foreign to me.
I didn't like the camp atmosphere, the fact that there was no women around really got to me.
Sorry if I'm a dissapointment to anybody but it's just the way I feel.
Anyways, thanks for the help as it helped me at least make the grade and remember this any potentials, it is frickin hard, whatever your trainining involves, double it.
BTW:- the bottom field was one of most unenjoyable experiences in my entire life.
PS:- I think they may have met their Quota for this year as they require higher levels than what have been posted, for example.
To get through, the assult course had to be done in under 3mins 50Secs in the pouring rain.
We lost 8 people in the first morning as they did not get lvl 11 on the bleep test.
They were really looking for maximums in almost everything.

Sorry it turned out that way for you. You must be pretty disappointed. A lot of work and anticipation must have gone into your training.
I'm curious, did they use the same Bleep tape with the so-called gay announcer as is available from a link here or a different one. It's just that I noticed that the police tape is diferent - uses diferent times - like starting at 7 second intervals.
How come all cops with PR training have the same voice. The guy sounds exactly like my boss who is ex police PR. and the cops who have come after him.

Well done count, whatever you decide, you've passed and that's an excellent achievement
. One question though, were the press ups, sit ups etc done to bleeps? And if so, how rapid were they?
Jackal, You can't run, and you can't hide. But you ought to at least try, as I think you have a significant wad of incoming

Only the bleep test is run to bleeps.
There is plenty enough time to complete the maximums in the two minutes alloted but I advise you to do a bleep test, mark time [knees up arms parallel] then do the 3 tests.
There is no let up, the only thing I really enjoyed was the small swimming test.
Hot and sweaty. hadn't had sip of water for 45mins, jump into the pool and cool off. The miserable Corperal actually commented on my strong swimming, I magaed to swim most of the pool underwater following the plunge.
Since this is my first piece of military life, are all armed forces the same?
i.e. Is everyone miserable and shouting all the time?

Quite shocked at your reply count, I thought you seemed well prepared and would of enjoyed it. Well done though for passing the PRMC, that is something of worth. Obviously no 1 will know if they are going to like it untill they are actually there doing it and at least you have had a taste.
I've recently been advised to wait untill the 9-10 months of my WLA outdoor pursuits instructor course is finished before joining the RMR, as it being time consuming (weeks away up snowdon,scotland..?.., brecon as well as teaching and climbs on certain weekends). Not sure to wait or not.
Well I hope your still goin to stick around on here? you normally got a few things to say for yourself that can be intresting, but sometimes .... well..

Dont bother beacuse if your sh*ting it about sweating with the marines, then what you going to be like when you have jump from a plane at night with **** knows how many pounds straped to your back
I'am not in the para regiment but hopeing to be with 4 para sometime in the future, so thats just my thoughts.
Less training????????

The bag (unless im mistaken) is also between the legs and 'let go' 30 ft from the floor and hung from a line.
The Count
Well done on passing but sorry to hear about your feeling on it. Personally i would go for it even thou you hated it. You may be 'won' round and in the future you wont be kicking yourself with the question "what if". If you go and really dislike it atleast you know you tried.
As for the higher requirements is this too pass as from what ive gathered the following will get you a pass(if you also show determination etc)
Pressups :45+
Sit ups : 70+
Pull ups : 3+
Bleep test: 11+ (11.2 was the lowest score posted that passed)
Assault course : High 3 minute low 4 minute
Also is the level 11 on the bleep test you refered to the standard 'pass' or the 'cut off'

I'm personally not that bothered about jumping out of a plane. The static jump out of a Balloon, I might have a few reservations about. No need to be such a bitch about it, it's a well known fact you have to be less phisically fit.

Jackal, don't assume the paras are going to be easier - You can't have failed to notice the discussions on these forums and the general consesnus is that the general difficulty and fitness requirements are essentially the same, if with different emphasis. And the total para training is twenty eight weeks, followed by four weeks of parachute training. So don't think of the paras as an easy option, just go for wich one you would prefer to serve in.
