Rigger, Budgie, singing bird??, definitely not ornithogically educated, canaries sing, larks sing, Budgies, well Budgies ... budge, and some sad beggars say that their particular Budgie can converse with the best, but never when the reporters are present. Still `our' Budgie seems quite a reasonable type, to whom, welcome.

Down here, not only can they sing, they can also dance, do human impersonations, and backstage, after the show they slip into gins, (which are all pink, after all Harry!) cook a barbie, then finish the day by helping the kids with their homework.

No mate MY apologies, age induced myopia meant that I didn't register the Southern Hemisphere, stands to sense that Budgies are different down there, I suppose it could be up there for all we know. Human impersonations you say, sorry that bars them from this forum, no one else on here can manage human impersonations. We seem to be gathering a fair few antipodeans of late, presumably mostly Poms on the run rather than second or third generation. My younger daughter spent part of her gap year in Queensland, hard time she had, diving on the reef, free falling onto Mission Beach etc, hard, bl**dy hard it must have been, not like her old dad who only had to fund it all. She never stops going on about Oz now and I reckon once her science degree is in her tucker bag she will be heading that way for good.

Harry is right there Baz. If your daughter does come to Oz, you could do worse than pop over here for a while. Having been around a bit, I would recommend Qld, WA, or northern NSW coastal areas. I have been here over 36 years and never went back to the UK in that time. Shingle beaches and lousy weather hold no attraction for me. Besides, us crabs like being near the greatest beaches in the world!

Wully having close relatives here is a bonus . A retirees visa is for four years I believe and is renewable. This is a great country to live in your money will go nearly three times as far. As a pensioner we get assistance with rates, power,water,gas,rego,rail fares and more. Plus which houses are cheaper. I live in country Victoria and love it it is beautiful and here we still get four seasons we did move to NSW at one time but didnt like it too hot and only two seasons. So my advice is go for it.
