Here is an extract from the Royal Navy Marines section from a currently serving RM
http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/static/pages/2698.html
I for one know that those stats you listed were well above average fitness, infact to use one of these guys words I would say that you are super fit.You don’t have to be super fit to join the Royal Marines. Most people joining are of average physical ability but the training is designed to build you up gradually to the Commando standard. All you need is a big heart and the determination to succeed.
The AFCO bloke i spoke too said If i managed a 11-11.5 on the bleep test then with my aptitude test I'd get a pretty high score.
I was slightly hoping for this as my upper body strength does not seem to be as great as a few of the guys on the forum. Funnily enough there was a 'just passed' Commando at the AFCO ready to answer any questions, I thought I may have been a bit broader than him, maybe i'm carrying some excess weight.
BTW:- I reckon you'll do fine, you have the military forum power behind you

When GH 'joined up' they probably did the 6 mile endurance course on the 'PRC' meaning he would of had to been that fit.
I told you if you got a higher score you didnt need to work as hard as those who got low scores. No nobody listened to me
Bearing that in mind i could join every specilisation on the Navy accept Air technician simply because i didnt do the mechanical section. Whose a smart little boy then.

back to the start of this thread...if someone could implement it i think it would be a great idea to have an online chart of peoples scores in things like bleep, press-up, sit-up, 3mile, 100m sprint etc. Helps a lot with encouragement i think.
PS- the link in the first post doesnt seem to work for me? Is it still active?
