Very well put,it helps us "old & bold" to be reassured that things haven't got "easier" than when we went through training.
I well remember my Dad (in the Corps in WWII & a "graduate" of Achnacarry) banging on about how much easier we sprogs had it at ITCRM,as opposed to Dolditch Camp (on Woodbury Common) in his day.
Of course things change, weapons & kit change,so why not training methods ?.I believe the Corps still attracts & gets the right kind of Recruits ... so the Training Team can't swear anymore,so what ?,after a while,it lost its effect anyway,as most Servicemen & I include myself, regard the "F" word merely as an additional adjective ! (something civvies fail to appreciate). .... far more effective is non verbal communication, that "certain" look from the First Drill, said far more than mere words could ever do !

The most important things, like our commitment to the Corps & each other, the ability to "hack it",to have a good "drip" but not really mean it & above all the deeply ingrained knowledge & belief in ones own "Superiority" as a Royal Marine ... those things will NEVER change !
Good luck with your time in the Corps, one day you'll be like me,ready to do it all again but knowing the body would protest violently ... "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" !
