Which of your English Kings suggested an arms amnesty?
It seems the original thirteen colony's in the US did not agree in 1772.
It was directed at them and not at his own people who had already been subjugated.

It amazes me that people over here are trying to glorify or act like and implement a gang culture that is seen in the U.S - THAT IS CRAZY! Why on Earth would you want to do that. An amnesty can be a good thing. No the criminals who use guns and knives aren't going hand them in but it might stop the so called 'crimes of passion".

Imagine the man who comes home from work to find his wife in bed with another man and in his rage goes to the wardrobe for his shotgun and wastes them both.

The amnesty could be the difference between him going to jail for 2 counts of manslaughter or getting community service for assault.

He runs down stairs and picks up the biggest chopper he can find ( his obviously isn't big enough ) and does them both in with that.

ps He would be in more trouble for keeping his shotgun in the wardrobe.

Yesterday I took myself walkabout through the local"Designated Recreation Area"
Caught me a little by suprise when I realised how vunerable I felt without a firearm.Not directly threatened,just aware of an underlying discomfort.
I did steer towards a gaggle of chav's who were blocking the sidewalk having seen their behavior to a pedestrian just ahead of me.
They scoped me out then glumly got out of my way.
Couldn't help but hear the muttering as they closed ranks behind me and I nearly turned around but figured that really wouldn't help.
Have to add that Plod around here don't seem very errr...Motivated

Damn straight!! I totally agree with you here Wholley. Its one thing the Yanks have got squared away and thats their police. Get the UK Police forces all armed and dangerous.

After all, whats a batton going to do against a "gaggle of chavs" when you can hold a pistol up to them and guarenteed they will all stand still with their hands in the air and nobody needs to fire a shot.

Paul you should ride shotgun in the Artmobile Oppo. There I was a few weeks ago driving up a one way street. Bunch of A1 tossers/Chavs stood on the tarmaccadam, average age 16 to 18 all loud and obnoxious. They grudgingly moved aside to let me pass.

As I went past saw this Prong heave summut at the back of the Artmobile, heard a Dink! noise and in the rearview mirror clocked them all laughing and patting the Prong who had thown whatever it was at the Artmobile.

Thought to meself "Bugger it!" wacked the Artmobile into reverse and shot backwards at a fair lick of knots. Wacked on the brakes, got out of the Artmobile walked up to the "Hardcase" and introduced myself. The gutless little dick nearly shat himself when I informed him that if he ever heaved anything at my car again I would "Rip his head off and shit in his fecking lungs"

I am going to contact Bedfords Finest to see if I can at least get a shotgun license.
I did have one when I was a lad in Essex but I guess times have changed.
