We expect them to always be the perfect example of Civil Servants. Sometimes they ain`t.
Some of them systematically abuse the power they hold on an all-to-frequent basis. If you meet one of these "Officers" it will affect the way you see Police for the rest of your life.
But watch how they deal with all the shit that you want to pretend doesn’t exist. The teenage drunk driver who kills a car full of his mates, the violent drunk neighbour, the old bloke next door who died three weeks ago and you never noticed. You’re farking glad of the Filth then, I can tell you.
Every organisation has good apples and bad apples and even the Corps I love has some right arsewipes in it to this day. Don’t let the w4nkers who abuse their power cloud your judgement.
There are some great Coppers around and when you really need one, I mean really really need one, you’ll be glad of that fact.

I am very happy to count some police officers among my friends. They are among the most quality guys I have ever met. There are others I know, though, who are absolute tossers. I've had some of the good guys point out others and say they would never work with them. Others still have been clocked as theives, bullies, and all-round scum bags. They just happen to be in uniform. One guy I know was put on disciplinary proceedings for unnecessarily putting the boots to a guy after a foot chase. He was told he would not be allowed to go on career courses, or be posted to another unit for 24 months, so he got out. This guy was always bragging about "squishing bad guys" as he called it. He ws about 5'7" at best and a right little nob. Good riddence to bad rubbish.

Regardless of all of this, cops, soldiers, etc., should all be held to a higher standard by virtue of the public trust placed in them. If they are not capable of rising to the occasion and warranting that trust, then they should naff off and find somethng else to do with their sad lives or take the consequences of their actions if they stay and eventually get sussed as a bad apple. I recall two PCs from the Thames Valley Police getting binned before the end of their probation period. Thay were just a little too thrilled with their perceived new-found power positions.

Once I was at a party at a basement flat (14 George Street as I recall) in Reading. There were some HA fellers in there who were celebrating one of their crew just getting out the clink. Plus a few Rastas, some skinheads, and a lot of wannabe hippy types (quite an eclectic ensemble). Everyone knew that the two fresh faced young lads in there were coppers. They also knew that the coppers were fresh out of basic training and did not have a clue what to do in that situation. I have no idea why they were there. Everyone, including the coppers, were getting steadilly ratted anyway, and the Rastas started rolling a few "cones" to pass around. Well, the young coppers didn't bat an eye. They just took a toke and passed it on. I remember thinking they looked like right nobs, sitting cross-legged on the floor in their bloody Berghaus ski jackets. I'm sure that opiated Nep' did a number on them! Years later, I thought back to that night and wondered how those niaive dickheads turned out and what they see when they look in the mirror these days. Make you wonder.

I, too, have coppers as mates. I was not implying that 'all coppers are barstewards.' I might have thought that once upon a time but I have grown up since then.

My original point was, why should two members of the Cheshire Constabulary see fit to single out my son for a kicking behind bloody Kwiksave? He can remember every single word that was said to him and it was evident they wanted him to respond by kicking off. Which he didn't.

So they had no excuse, therefore, to pile into him.

Put into context, this was Nantwich ....... a sleepy Cheshire market town ...... until Saturday night when things can get a bit lairy.

I have no reason to disbelieve my son. We don't have that sort of relationship ..... thank God.

He was out with his mates having a laugh. That's all.
