Any RM who hasn't been to Bugis St. - has definitely "missed out"!!"
Have you never met "Simone"? (And seen "her", 5 o' clock shadow at 3 a.m. in the morning.!)
It was also the best eating place in "Singers" - at that time in the morning!! (Apart from Sam's Stall in Neesoon on the way back to Sembawang.! ( 42 Cdo.))

Madmick,
You have got it in one.
Bugis St. was the ultimate run ashore!
It's a shame, that it has changed so much. I hear that the stalls are still there - but that the atmosphere has changed? No more Kai Tai's. - No more Pro's etc. It is now just an eating place. Anybody out there that can throw any light on the current situation?

Kin Scarlet Pimpernel`s got nowt on you, Madmick
I need to see you "young" man
Are you going, Saturday?
Ref Bugis St, it`s been rebuilt and most of the Kai-Tais now work in ladies shoe shops. (why would I know that
)We had a week in Singers on the way down here two years since. Not quite the oriental den of iniquity that I`d been expecting. More like central Milton Keynes on steroids

Further to my last, Sneaks take a look at this link, Rob gives a pretty accurate picture of Singers. He fails to mention the 24hr building works which seem to be happening all over town, the fantastic underground, or the island in a sea of construction which is Raffles

Here`s Jack age three, with meself in the courtyard of Raffles. Singapore Sling in hand

After a week of chokey scran, we found the London Pub where I troughed out on a mega fry-up, real black pudding and all. Marvellous
Here`s a view westward over the river. Boat quay is all posh restaurants and that part of town isn`t as developed as the center.

It was the wet monsoon and stair-rods were the order of the day. Here`s his nibs, impersonating Gene Kelly

As said elsewhere, Singers is a bit of a hike from UKers for a holliday. But as a stopover, it was great. We`ll defo return.
Fatty has gone all up-market and got hisself a restaurant. Best chokey scran, mate, we ate there at least once a day
Easy, Aye,
Harry
