Cloggies

Post by Oakers »

The cloggies I've met and worked with were decent blokes.

I wouldn't compare them on a professional basis generally although there are those that stand out. Their ML's that I came across were excellent, super fit blokes.

I knew a PW1 who was attached to them for a bit and he told me when he got back that it was a cushy job but the blokes he was looking after were cluster f***s and and a bit dangerous.

That is by Royal standard though

Loads of smoke, loads of rounds Fusiliers to the front!

This years 'best of the class' ML was a Dutch marine, he will probably come back as an instructor in a few years.

The big one on the left is me cousin. NAAFI van DRIVER. A well respected name in Texal I'll have you know.

Worked with 1 ACG back in the 70's for a couple of weeks as Distaff signaller out of BDE. Good blokes all spoke better English than some people I have met in the Corp. Only problem was there ration packs, they were the worst ones I have ever ate.

Artist, you`ve got Van Gogh`s ear for music mate :P
Me cloggie mate`s dad works in the Riot Police in Amsterdam, on the football hooligan team. He has a phrase he uses like "bugger me" or similar. I`ve never seen it written down, but it sounds like,
"Polke de coke, in der drocthenhole"
Loosely translated, it means "f@#k the chicken, in the outside shitter"
Great ice-breaker at Dutch parties :P
By the way, I believe Van Gogh used "Dutch floor polish" on his paintings.
Came up a treat, apparently 8)
Have you tried it yet?
Aye, Harry van Haarden
Tot ziens
