Old sweats??

Post by Oakers »

Is it my imagination or is there a distinct lack of the old boys on here these days? Harry, Prez, Gash, Stcks etc etc.

Anyone know why the bug out?

Prez & Sticks are away for awhile, Harry is keeping himself warm in the cold Australian Winter (yeah right) and must be hibernating. Unsure about gash, he was pretty pi**ed off the other week hope he hasn't gone awol.

Good old Andy is still around, and he is even older than me, I think his number stars with a 1 (is that right Andy?) and JR has been posting, they didn't have numbers in his day as they all knew each other. I'm just a youngster with a 21 start to my number. So some of the more mature members are still keeping an eye on you youngsters.

I`m still here, but it`s bloody quiet in the mess :P Spending more time this week, pm-ing and less time posting  Plus, I have the working drawings for Hackedoff Heights to check over before signing contracts next week and building starts in September. Once the ground floor slab is poured we`ll have a"Slab Party". Flash up the barby and everyone brings a slab of beer 8)

Good luck with the bldg work Harry! We've just had a conservatory done. For some reason the surface of the 'slab' is turning to dust???? :(

We've been lucky with the builders so far but the conservatory guy is a right tosser. Talk about Bodgit and Leggit! :-? :x

But I know where he lives.

PLY/X 5416 is pretty ancient too, Jim, good old Divisional numbers, how times have changed, I feel quite old sometimes, especially when blokes like Bert where born in 1950,three years after I joined, bloody hell, now I know that I'm old. :( :D

HH,

Obviously you provide some of the most interesting posts and it goes without saying that you brighten anyones day :kissing:

More seriously though, the forums have not been such an interesting or informative read recently. As pointed out by others, quite a lot of the threads are now rapidly deteriorating into pi$$ing contests or teenage chat boards.

Many of the, 'original contributors' don't appear to come on so often or don't post as often. Surely, they cannot all have defected to that other site with the over zealous moderators

Maria... you have hit the nail on the head, so to speak. Like the remainder of those who have been part of this site I'm getting Truly Hackedorf (Sorry H) with the rantings and puerile trash that passes for interesting topics and threads.... the sensible people (mature) are not posting because there is nothing to attach a thread to... WE have to do something Now before the spotty brigade, with their school boy (sorry Student) view of life takes over what was a lively and interesting site.

 I may not be articulate as some on the forum, but I think it has degenerated into something akin to school room banter,Okay some of us are guilty of jumping in feet first, but the expertise and professionalism shown on these forums is second to none to the up and comming 'wanabees',good luck to them that take heed of the infomation given on the forum. There are a few of us who came up through the school of hard knocks I for one have been guilty of biting back but thats my nature.I will now get off my soap box and step back,to put it bluntly 'I'm Orf'. Cheers all.Aye JR
