4 para entry tests compared to regulars

Post by AntonyP2014 »

Wouldn't it be better if the 4 para entry tests were exactly the same as they are for the regulars ? That's way there'd be no stigma attached to the chaps who make it into 4 para. Given the choice I'm sure every 4 para recruit would do as the regulars do anyway
What do you guys reckon !?

Its a question of practicality. Reserve soldiers from 4 PARA and other Reserve Airborne Units attend a condensed four-day PPS course tailored to their requirements.

It differs only slightly from the Regular Army’s Test Week – the main differences being one less event (endurance march), extra time allocated to the 10-miler (10 minutes), the steeplechase (1½ minutes) and the two-miler (1 minute).

The nature of the beast with any TA, sorry I mean Army reserve... :o , regt is always going to be commitment. Due to the considerable training demands placed on regular recruits who train full time, it is simply not feasible to ask the same of a part time soldier/officer.

Zero.
