Hi there, first time poster but recent lurker also. Decided to join the site. I'm 27 and planning to put in an application for the Army after new year. The job I've always wanted to do is Dog Handler with the RAVC (with Comms Sys Op and IT Sys Eng as back up choices as I have to put 3).
Done a bit of rooting on the net but though it best to bite the bullet and ask. Do you need prior experience of working with dogs to have any hope of getting into this role? Or is it something that's not necessary when applying but helpful?

I think you will find that dog handlers section is pretty full at the moment with a list of regular soldiers wanting to transfer across to it.
