fitness and strength requirements

Post by schm13 »

Hi
I am a 16 year old male from South Africa and I have a few questions to ask
1) As a South African, can I join the British army (Paras) ?
2) How long exactly would I need to serve in the Paras until I would be able to
attempt SAS selection?
3) If at all possible, could a Paras/SAS regiment workout be sent to me ? I
have found one online which claims to be the fitness standards of most
special forces but I would like to know if I have to work and train harder
than I currently am. My workout at the moment is a 2km run, a 200meter sprint up a hill
5 minutes of bridge(plank), 80 pushups, 100 situps, 12 pullups, 50 barbell press
30 brabell overheads and 20 bicep curls each arm. I also increase the workout every 10 days
Much thanks to anyone who can help me out

For last question, about workouts, i can say you, just train, train hard, to be in optimal condition... You dont need to look how much this, how much that... just train properly and result will come!

If you have an Iphone, try this app:

You can also contact a British Army Recruiter Directly and they will provide you with every possible answer direct from the British Army Recruitment Manual. Then you will know its Genuine and not a duty rumour.

go to http://www.armyjobs.mod.uk they will also send you all the booklets you could ever want, ask for the Getting Fit booklet and all the Para booklets they have.
