Considering joining the army
Hi guys I'm lewis 29 from Cambridgeshire uk, and considering joining the British army, a quick prologue before I go on I have worked every day since the age of 16 when I left school since then I have gone from one menial job to another, any way I recently found my self unemployed a shock at the time but now I consider it a blessing as I can work towards something I've always wanted to do, join the military, I've spoken to my local recruitment officer who was very kind and in the nicest possible way advised me to get myself in better shape and to return when my BMI was below 25 so since then I have been working tirelessly to get my self in perfect shape, my question is is there anybody else who joined the army at a later point in their life and how hard was the training, im interested in joining the infantry with its belive the training is perticualler grueling for, im under no illustrations I know at 29 I'll probably have to work three times as hard than anyone else but this is something I keen to achieve.
When life gives you lemons, squeeze them in to the wounds of your enemy's.

In relation to your question, it is my strong belief that mental ability is stronger than brawn, providing you pass selection and your willing to give 110% there isn't any reason your age should be a factor, your within the Age to join therefor are just as welcome as everybody else to attempt to do so, everyone has a quality to add to a team were you may lack in stamina you may pick up for in mental robustness.
Hope this helps.

Also I like to think of my age as a positive, I have plenty life experience after all, I know how to take orders and carry them out without question.

Yes exactly, you might even get more responsibilities, as you will or should be able to deal with things better due to that experience, there's negatives and positives for all age groups, at-least at your Age you've had a chance to try out other options in life and you can bring your experience gained during that time to benefit the Army which can't be a bad thing

Just remember that when you join you could be chased around all day by some snotty nose 18 year old who is to young to have started shaving, and you will be tempted to tear his head off and stick some where that produces the brown stuff
